Wat Are good PS2 Games?

What are some good PS2 games that you would recommend and when have they or going to be released?

We can't say that GTA is definately going to be good, since, as you said, it hasn't been released, but I am getting it, because it will probably be an excellent game.

Max Payne suxs. I say get SOCOM.

Max Payne was ok, but not as good as SOCOM, nor as good as GTA:V and The Getaway look to be.

I'd hold off 'til GTA: VC (if you can)...if not, get SOCOM

Oh yeah. You only mentioned some of the most recent...Max Payne sucks. Here's a list I compiled for the Hardcore down to the beginner...im too much of a sony fanboy...im sorry...

Harcore:
Definately go with DOA:Hardcore...I mean, yeah, it's a bit easy, so then try to unlock all the objects in Survival. Multiplayer mode; massive.
GTA III..just go ahead and get 100%. I dare ya.
Final Fantasy X...its one of those games that amatuers can also play, but wont get all the fun out of it.

Amatuer:
Zone of the Enders...its a great game, but it was too short, too easy....and so on.
Klonoa 2...I beat it in about a week, playing about an hour or two a day. theres one hard part, but other than that, its fairly easy.
