Ok, I am anxiously awaiting the DS. I am aware of the 16 person LAN, but I hear word of other networking capabilities. It seems everyone says something different. Does anyone here know anything about it?

Um, there's WiFi support.

Yeah, wifi, bluetooth and network sharing...and possibly free online because of wifi...or a very, very cheap on...like 5$ a month...

This is awesome. Now you just have to find a lot of friends that will have the DS and the same games as well. Unless the games will be able to play multiplayer under one cartridge. Now that would be awesome.

^it can...the most underrated feature of the DS...media sharing...one cartrage for 16 ds's, or however many Ds that don't have the game...

I like that option. It makes multiplayer gaming so much better as long as you have a friend or friends that wants to play. I really disliked the cords.
I wonder what would happen if you went out of range.

It is wireless connecting. So that means you can connect to another DS within a certain range without cables. Just as fast as cables.

The DS is definitely not what we'd expect from Nintendo, and I respect them for that, because it looks great. The prototype looks like a Game and Watch, but oh well. Maybe they'll change some of it.

Nintendo doesn't want to charge money for online play. They said that like...a year ago. It's in one of my old EGM mags.

hopefully they will make the DS look equivalently as cool as the SP, because really, the DS outside shell looked inferior to the PSP asthetic-wise.

That's why I said possibly free or very, very cheap...I mean dirt cheap, if nintendo can maintain there free network, they may have to charge, but extremely cheap...

Hehe, have fun with your 4 (to date) launch games. I'll be busy having too much fun playing 4 player Mario 64x4. PLus the price tag and battery life is way too crappy for my tastes. I prefer the well designed systems. Oh yeah, and I bet we'll see some cooler games on the DS, as developers have said they're very excited about being able to makes games for the DS.

I'm confident enough to say this...buy a psp...if you don't like it,trade it back in and get your money back...though, you'll lose money with all the sign-ups and such, you can still trade it in...

Who knows if the DS will have a color selection?
Shayde

At E3 they had a few different colors...all silver with different faceplate colors...

Good news. I love selection.
Michael

Selection is one reason why the GBA Sp was so popular, they'd be dumb not to include a color selection...this brings to mind the gc though...they had a selection, but I think they would have done bad if they only had purple...something to think about...
