What car would you rather have?

An econobox that got 45 mpg but only had 50HP,tops out at 65mph seats 3 and 1/2 people and a pice of mind that you are saving the enviornment. Or a large sedan/SUV that has a v-6 (or v-8) that makes 220HP hauls around 5 people and extra cargo but give you 25 mpg?

I think I will go with the sedan/SUV

SUVs are ridiculous. Why don't you take them off-road?

Of course, this is a bit of an unfair comparison. Cheaper cars generally are smaller and get better gas mileage.. I like to have some power, but horsepower isn't the only thing that makes a car fast. Hell, the Corolla I have has a 1.8L I4 with like 100 hp, and it isn't slow, but it gets over 35 mpg on average. The BMW has a 2.7 and it gets about 30, with roughly 175 hp. Of course the old 3-Series is about 3400 lbs..
