The year is 2008. Citywide blackouts... stock exchange sabotage... electronic hijacking of national defense systems... this is information warfare, which has become the most dangerous threat to global stability. To prevent these attacks, you must infiltrate deep into hostile territory and aggressively collect critical intelligence, closer than ever to enemy soldiers.
You are Sam Fisher, the NSA's most elite black-ops agent. To achieve your mission you will operate undetected, kill at close-range, attack with your combat knife, shoot with the modular SC20K rifle, and use radical suppression techniques such as the inverted neck break. Work alone, or enjoy the thrill of cooperative multiplayer infiltration missions, where teamwork is the ultimate weapon.

Today, Ubisoft has released the first 3D screenshots of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory using Apple's QuickTime VR technology. Check the links below to download the movies. QuickTime media player is required; if you don't have QuickTime installed on your computer, visit Apple's QuickTime site to download a free copy of the player.

With the first Splinter Cell, Ubisoft redefined stealth action and set new standards for dynamic lighting; Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow delivered an online multiplayer experience that awed even jaded gamers, and Splinter Cell 3 will continue the tradition of pushing the interactive and technological possibilities of video gaming. It will offer the best graphics in this generation of games, a completely immersive and interactive environment, innovative gameplay and a completely unique collaborative multiplayer experience. Splinter Cell 3's features – all courtesy of cutting edge visual and sound technologies – will set an industry benchmark once again.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory will be available on the Xbox video game system from Microsoft, PC and N-gage by the end of 2004.

So UBI has ditched the PS2. This is good Xbox gets SplinterCell 3 while the PS2 get's MGS 3.

BTW these GFX look very nice, not like the original SC looked bad or anything but cool!

BTW#2 man their cracking out the SC's wonder if they can keep the quality high.

Hope so. SC3 will probably come to PS2 later.

And I pray to the holy lord that MGS3 comes to Xbox.

Your not the only one praying lol :)

My suspicion is that Konami will do a MGSIII Xbox release, i mean Konami basically bangs MS every night compared to every other JAP developer/publisher. IIS 3, Silent Hill 4 are both comming to xbox, i mean it makes perfect sense for an Xbox MGS III Sony boys will buy this in droves, 2.5 to 3 million sales i reckon if it's good, and another 500 K for a good xbox port.

Well that's what i think anyway.

Ya'll need help. They should have saved Splinter Cell 3 for next generation.
I don't care about MGS 3 and I really don't play Splinter Cell

errr very non-constructive post there. with SC and MGS baically the only two good spy sims on the market we need a release of these bad boys this gen. Besides why did ya even post you don't play/like MGS 3 or SC, but then again everyone is entitled to an opinion :)

Well I just felt like puttin it out there. I think they should put out MGS3 this year, but SC3 is very futuristic. Keep it for the future

Outlaw, get the FUCK outta my thread. :P

MGS and SC > You and your mom.

Yes I really hope they're not making a mistake by releasing SC too early...

Has anyone heard of MGS Online? I heard about it a while ago in some GamePro... wonder how that's gonna work?

Haris
07-15-2004, 11:54 PM
Also, about the multiplayer, in GamePro it said that it requires a lot more teamwork. You can hoist your buddy over a wall as spies, you can hold a rope straight so they can climb, etc...

I forgot the rest it's all in the magazine. Awesomeness.

I don't.

Fuck the four character limit for not letting me type NO. SHIT!

You could have put two periods. Or "nope."

Dorbin
07-16-2004, 02:19 AM
Hm, I was surprised about SC3 coming out so soon, but I'm guessing it'll work out just fine.

The premise sounds great, and it appears that not only the multiplayer but the single-player as well will have some major innovations this time around. Super!

Haris
07-16-2004, 02:20 AM
Yes quite "super".

God I love this game.

Dorbin
07-16-2004, 02:22 AM
Maybe they should change the subtitle from "Chaos Theory" to "Super Duper!"

Just a suggestion....:)

Haris
07-16-2004, 03:09 AM
I think I can explain why SC3 is coming so soon. It said in GamePro that UbiSoft Montreal is making SC3, the same people that made SC1. I this this means that SC2 was made from a different department of UbiSoft. So maybe SC3 was being worked on before SC2 was even released, because they were in different divisions of Ubi. This would explain why CJ thinks SC2 is just like SC1 because maybe they just transferred the game engine to a different division and just added a few things. UbiSoft Montreal however is completely breaking down and building up a new SC for number 3, Gamepro says.

Bwah.

Dorbin
07-16-2004, 03:47 AM
Yea, SC2 used the same engine, which made it a lot easier for the developers.

Haris
07-16-2004, 03:57 AM
Which was what made CJ pee his pants in anger over it.

Serene Samus

Yeah different departments of Ubi Soft make each SC game. That might be why. SC3 sounds pretty good so far. Sounds like there will be a lot more added to the single player mode.

Haris
07-16-2004, 07:23 AM
I cannot fucking wait for this. Multiplayer will be awesome.

Dorbin
07-16-2004, 07:38 AM
Xbox Live, holla!
Unfortunately, I typically suck at 'stealth' type games. I'm more of the 'run and gun' type, if ya know what I mean. The suicide bomber, more or less. The Islamic Extremist of video games.

I'll give it a try nonetheless, though.

Haris
07-16-2004, 08:04 AM
Be a merc.

Dorbin
07-16-2004, 08:23 AM
Yea, that would be the most logical route for me. Although sneaking up on an unsuspecting merc and bashing him over the head does have its appeal...

Because it's a facking horrid game. If I want to play Pandora Tomorrow, I'll go play Splinter Cell 1.

Haris

Don't n00bit me, n00bster. What did you find so bad about it? That the people were bitches and always wanted to be on a certain team? People are fine now, it's incredibly fun when you really bond with your teammate because you have to work to-fucking-gether.

Just give it another chance, how much will it cost you to rent it, like five dollars??

Crow
07-17-2004, 12:02 AM

Dorbin

I've heard only positive things about the online multiplayer of PT, although I haven't yet tried it myself. Sounded pretty innovative though; third-person spies vs. first-person mercs is certainly a new and fresh take on things.

Serene Samus
07-17-2004, 01:34 AM
It's really, really fun. it's even better than it sounds. Once you start playing it, it sucks you right in and you can't stop.

Hehe. I understand the mercs have a first-person viewpoint, but seeing as the game revolves around stealth, as you readily admit, and that even the mercs must exhibit some stealth so that they don't run into some kind of spy ambush, how can you complain that you need a keyboard and mouse to properly play? It's not a run and gun game, and I feel certain it works just fine without a mouse configuration.

Serene Samus
07-17-2004, 05:23 AM
Yeah Splinter Cell isn't an FPS.

Haris

The single player game has a great story, and a few new moves. So bite my dick.

The first SC didn't have multiplayer and it still did very well.

Crow

the only stealth game which is good is Hitman for the simple fact that if you get bored of stealth you can go shoot someone with a shotgun...
Hitman > Splinter Cell

Haris
07-17-2004, 08:13 PM
Are you kidding? Hitman fucking blows more than Adam on a saturday night.

Oh, and Stealth > CJ

Dorbin
07-17-2004, 08:15 PM
Hmm, and yet the newest version of Hitman scored considerably lower than SC2, if I recall...

SC's multiplayer is fucking awesome. I rented it and sucked hardcore but then I was actually decent and it was really fun. Some games you'll get a jackass for a partner but thats not very often.

Serene Samus
07-17-2004, 11:17 PM

Oh yeah. It's in 1st person if you're a merc.

Crow

Hitman is a better game IMO, Splinter Cell u can stealth and thats it, Hitman you can stealth and go insane and hang up people on meat hooks, Splinter Cell is for Fanboys

C.J.
07-17-2004, 11:26 PM
I can't stand Hitman.

Crow
07-17-2004, 11:28 PM
i liked it, there are better game but i prefer it to Splinter Cell

Dorbin
07-18-2004, 12:24 AM
I never really played Hitman, so I won't go any farther with the argument. However, SC is generally regarded as a much more polished game.
