And the Gamecube continues to fall behind ... I can't wait to see how much Tales of Symphonia sold in the US.

Yeah I thought I wouldn't be able to get ToS for another week because I went to Target and there was and empty spot on the shelf. Then I went to Gamestop didn't see it and asked and they said another week before they would get any more. Went to Ebgames and what do ya know, same story! I then went to the last possible store and Sam Goody and didn't really expect anything but I got there LAST FRIGGIN COPY! So yeah I think I proboly got the last copy of it in the damn state.

If Nintendo wants to sell more GC in the US they have to do something about it. I can't believe they don't give really any great deals. Drop the price some more.

Anyway, where the hell is the GBA?

Holy S#$% the PS2 sold alot wow, good to see the xbox is giving some resistance. But my big thing is the Halo sales, one may assume that every second new xbox owner buys Halo now, i guess people need to know the story before Halo2

Another thing Xbox game sales are basically identical to the PS2's
The Cube needs zelda stat! :cry2:

Well Zelda Four Swords did fairly well (thid overall) considering it wasn't really hyped and a lot people already decided against the game because of the graphics and requirements, so that's good to see. GCN is falling pretty far behind X-Box now, and they surely are in third globaly, which is sad, christmas will surely be interesting.

Tales of Symphonia is a great game, but I don't think it will have very good sales, where I live Strawberries only got like 3 copies, Walmart got zero, then about 1/2 an hour away, EB Games got like 5, and the same with GameStop, the game simply wasn't even given the chance to sell. If everyone snatches up those copies quick enough, however, the game might see some decent sales, because I believe quite a few have already sold out (that was the day they got it, I got the last at Strawberries when they got it in on Wends, and it was only a few hours after they got the copies).

Activision's Spider-Man 2 on PS2 was the best selling game in the USA during the month of June, according to the latest figures from NPD, while the Xbox version of the game was at number five in the chart.

THQ's Full Spectrum Warrior on Xbox followed narrowly behind Spider-Man 2, at number two, while Nintendo's multiplayer Cube title Legend of Zelda: Four Swords was at number three.

Atari's Driv3r had a somewhat disappointing US debut compared with its performance in other territories, coming in at number four on the PlayStation 2 with the Xbox version nowhere to be seen in the top ten ranking.

Vivendi Universal's Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay also had a solid month, coming in at number six ahead of Activision's Shrek 2 (PS2) at seven and EA's Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (PS2), down to number eight.

Holding up the bottom of the chart, Microsoft's Halo continues to sell amazingly strongly at number nine, clocking up over 100,000 further sales during June (with over half a million units of the title sold in the USA so far this year), while EA's MVP Baseball 2004 was at number ten.

Figures for the full six months through to June, however, show that MVP Baseball 2005 (PS2) was the best selling game of the year to date, followed closely by another EA Sports title, NFL Street (PS2).

In fact, EA had three of the top five titles in the first half of the year, with Fight Night 2004 (PS2) taking fourth place; Nintendo and Microsoft took one place each of the remaining two, with Pokemon Colosseum (Cube) at number three and Halo (Xbox) at number five.

In terms of market figures, June saw a 17 per cent year on year growth in home console software sales, which translated as three per cent growth for the entire industry (once other sales such as handheld games, hardware and accessories are counted - with hardware in particular dragging the figure down due to recent price cuts).

For the year to date, console software sales are up 7 per cent in the US, while total industry sales - again dragged down by the console price cuts - are down 3 per cent.

Damn, Halo is the 5th best selling game of 2004 (which means it had to sell over 500k so far for this year I believe). That's pretty amazing for an old game like Halo, and it didn't even go to the Platinum Hits lineup yet.

^^ res evil sold that few! while it's good (for lucky ass nintendo people) that capcom has res evil exclusive to the cube (well the main res evils anyway) one has to imagine if such a deal will happen next gen. I thought the sales for RE REMAKE would be huge for such an excellent game.

Do you have pre-orders at all?
For like Halo 2, GTA:SA and such.

EDIT: How about game with least sales?
EDIT 2: You have ESPN NFL 2k4 vs Madden 2004?

Prince
07-22-2004, 03:40 AM
Yeah, I have ESPN vs. Madden..

Madden NFL 2004 - 3,370,794 (PS2), 774,552 (XBX), 202,292 (GCN), 163,560 (GBA) = 4,511,198 Total
ESPN NFL Football (2004) - 207,147 (PS2), 195,736 (XBX) = 402,883 Total

As you can see, Sega/ESPN was royally owned.

The Madden 2004 sales figures don't include PC or PS1 sales either so they were even better..

edit: just for fun..

Madden NFL Football 1999: 2.2 million units
Madden NFL Football 2000: 3.1 million units
Madden NFL Football 2001: 4.6 million units
Madden NFL Football 2002: 4.8 million units
Madden NFL Football 2003: 5.4 million units

Good new for Microsoft. I think once Nintendo gets some of their key games out the market share should even up between Nintendo and Microsoft.

It's so crazy read that. I just say that it's a testiment to how great the game really is. The rest of you may claim it's not, but I think if it was on Gamecube you would have some diffrent feelings for it. Halo is defently the game that will make a lasting impression of what this generation was all about.
