It's basically a competiton between SMW and SMB3 and I pick SMB3, they were both great but for some reason I just loved SMB3 a lil bit more.

Yeah, same here. That is one awsome game though! I got it for the GBA and it's freakin' hard! I can't beat world 25 (the one with the falling smushers) Help on it would be nice. (hint hint :))

That is really, really hard, but i am going to go with Super Mario World, cause that was the first game I ever played, ever.

As I expected, it looks to be a close call between Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World. I really enjoyed all four of these games, but especially the last two, but I think I love Super Mario Bros. 3 just a tad more than Super Mario World.

I can't wait for the new Super Mario Bros. that's bound for DS. I've wanted another one for so many years, now, and we're finally getting it.

Yep... I've been dying for a new Super Mario Bros. Mario Vs. Donkey Kong was fun, but it just wasn't the same as a full blown Mario Bros game. I can't wait to see all the stuff they are going to put in it.

My favorite was the one where you were mario or luigi and you knocked down buildings when aliens came after you...

oh yah, Recking Crew

Super Mario World. Your poll is missing Super Mario Land 1 + 2, and The Lost Levels.

The Lost Levels were extra levels from Super Mario Bros. 1

I loved SMW.

The Lost Levels was released as Super Mario Bros. 2 in Japan. The Super Mario Bros. 2 that we got was completely different. The Japanese Super Mario Bros. 2 wasn't released stateside because Nintendo thought it was too hard. It was eventually released as The Lost Levels stateside as one of the four Mario games in Super Mario All-Stars for the Super Nintendo. It was also included as an extra in Super Mario Bros. DX for Game Boy Color.

so... Super Mario Bros 2 is a watered down Lost Levels... I don't see why they didn't just make it extra long (you know, put lost levels as a bonus or something). Woulda made sense

looks awsome for an NES game. Maybe we'll see a remake on GBA? (oh come on, who was expecting Mario vs. Donkey Kong to come back?)

No. The Lost Levels plays off of the same gameplay as the original Super Mario Bros. Our Super Mario Bros. 2 is not anything like the original besides Mario himself. The game was actually not initially being developed as a Mario game at all. Late into production, Nintendo decided to put Mario in the game (Think Star Fox Adventures). In the game you threw vegitables at enemies. Our Super Mario Bros. 2 is not a "watered down" version of The Lost Levels, its a completely different game.

this will never make sense.

1. I know Super Mario Bros 2 was originally Doki Doki Panic in Japan.
2. Where the hell did the Jap Version of Super Mario Bros 2 come from, and why is it different from ours.

1.Japan never got our version of Super Mario Bros. 2 until Super Mario Advance was released in Japan. In fact, before then, it was refered to as Super Mario USA, because it had only been released stateside.

2. The Japanese version of Super Mario Bros. 2 is their Mario Bros. 2. They don't refer to it as The Lost Levels. Japanese Super Mario Bros. 2 and American Super Mario Bros. 2 are two completely different games. Their gameplays are not the same. The Japanese Super Mario Bros. 2 basically took the same formula as the original, and made new and extremely difficult levels. Nintendo thought it was too hard after they released it in Japan, and decided against releasing it elsewhere. They had to make a new Super Mario Bros. 2 for North America and Europe. They took Doki Doki Panic and made it into the Super Mario Bros. 2 that we know. It wasn't released in Japan because they already got their Super Mario Bros. 2. In 1993, Nintendo released Japanese Super Mario Bros. 2 in America as "Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels" as one of the games included in Super Mario All-Stars, which was a compilation of the greatest Mario games up to that point. Our Super Mario Bros. 2 was also in "All-Stars", retaining its original stateside name. Our Super Mario Bros. 2 was released in Japan for the first time as Super Mario Advance.

Yeah, most people who played that on NES when if first came out say that.

I woulda liked it if all the Mario Advances would barrow stuff from each other (switch places, the neato screen that stores the extra iteams you get)
