My record stands at a big fat zero.
If I'm going to meet anyone, realistically, it's most likely to be boneyking, or more likely, Kiwi.

Other alternative is taking my pants off, putting on some baby oil and going to Canada for some time with curryking :heybaby:

Dakota Grabowski breifly at that e3.

I met two PS3i members at a games show like four years ago, but I guess they don't count, because it was pre-E-mpire.

Greg

Technically one but I was friends with him long before e-mpire existed, we went to school together, but he is an e-mpire member so it counts.

In as good of an order as I can remember:

bing147
goku
r33hash
frosty
hylian advocate
derrick barra
d3adcell
skull kid
onbake
teh roxor
bryan

I think that's it..
Out of people I've met through E-mpire, I ended up becoming really good friends with D3adcell [obviously], Hylian Advocate, and Skull Kid.

And although they are not regulars, they are people who I know from outside of the forums that have come to E-mpire at some point.

-Skywalker84 [Noah's cousin]
-THE HAWK!! [Todd's cousin]
-BananaBabeQT [my sister]
-Emiwee [my best friend]

I have only met one person from the community, but that's only because all of the accounts were transferred over after the old message boards were assimilated into E-mpire. She went by the alias of "Coren." Met her a long time ago.

Haven't gotten around to meeting any of the regulars around now, though. I would like to, but it isn't really an option for me right now.

Haha, no, I'm not Jushiko. We aren't the same person. They do live in the same area, from what I last remember. I'm pretty sure they were dating each other back in the day.

I actually met her before we started talking to each other online. Most schools had the 8th grade field trip to Washington D.C. I guess her school and my school (along with a bunch of others) we staying at the same hotel. We hung out for a bit one night and we ran into each other while meandering D.C. A couple of years after that we started talking through Gamerzgoop and AIM.
It was kind of a funny revelation at the time.

D3adcell
10-12-2009, 08:08 PM
That is pretty funny. Then did you get her to sign up here or did she just sign up and you happened to post there too?

HPK
10-12-2009, 08:11 PM
Actually, we both just registered on our own accord on almost the same day. I think Jushiko convinced her to post at Gamerzgoop. I did it because I was bored (fun fact, I found the link through Alias' profile at another old forum). I don't remember how we started talking. May have been something to do with Jushiko and I working on sprite comics for Gamerzgoop. It's been a while.

Carlos briefly at e3.
Bullshit. How come you didn't say hi!?!?

....Fucking bitch. -_-

Anyhow, I've met quite the few...

XboxEvolved (John Olin) at E3 a few times.
Dakota Grabowski at E3 once.

Some of you have said you've met me, but only have seen me - including you, Goku.

Fucking scared ass little bitch, yeah, I'm talking about you, Goku!

*points finger at goku* scared little wuss.

I also met that fat dude in one of the E3 videos that frosty posted - not sure what username he has, tho.

Anyway, I've met a lot of the AMN guys including the owner himself. What a fucking cocky son of a bitch. Fucking cockface. He's a nice guy in real life, yet online he's one of the biggest assholes I've ever met.

That'll be all.

I wasn't mad, whoever fucktard ran to that last computer, took it like he wanted to take it away from me.

I wanted to kick that person's ass right then and there, but me being the professional one, I let it go and go on....I'm asking myself "What did I do to you to deserve this?" and then "WTF!? You really need a fucking computer you fucking shit!? Fine, take the fucking computer you fucking retard."

I wasn't mad, I was confused. When I make that face - I'm confused. And I scratched my head at the same time, I never understood why someone would want to do that to me; until fucking goku started bragging about it.

Carlos
10-13-2009, 05:57 AM
In the marines, you gain respect on what you're capable of doing....

But once everyone knows you're a marine, it becomes a nightmare, so that's why its more important to stay low. And by low, I mean, really really low. I know a few marines that have lived a better life by staying low.

On the flipside of the coin, if you fuck up. Its far more miserable. If you pay enough attention to enough marine movies, you'd understand the perspective of those who do fuck up.

don't use movies to judge millitary life.
Jax, with all due respect...

....Some movies are meant to teach us realities of the other world. Movies like Black Hawk Down teach that a bond between marines are usually more important than "oh, I care more about myself than some dude I just battled with" Its not like that in the marines.

Another situation shows that if you fuck up and your buddy takes the blame for it, the buddy takes the burden for it, and gets really fucking pissed. Some movies are meant to show PERSPECTIVES of the people in the movies. You don't believe me? Fine, go to Iraq without a buddy, training, or have an understanding what you're up against. Go ahead. I dare you.

....Some games are meant to teach us perspectives of the real world, for example: COD4.

You're in the radius of a flashbang? Dazed. And there's a loud sound to go with it. When soldiers die, and they have enough time to pull out something, they pull a bomb out which is where martyrdom came from. Don't care if its just a game? Fine then, I'd like to see you go to Iraq and win the war without knowing how it feels....and come back in one piece. Yeah.

Jax, with all due respect...

....Some movies are meant to teach us realities of the other world. Movies like Black Hawk Down teach that a bond between marines are usually more important than "oh, I care more about myself than some dude I just battled with" Its not like that in the marines. Black Hawk Down was about the Army. Rangers and shit.

Go ahead. I dare you.
Eh, some of the shit in the movies is realistic, or was at the time. The closest thing I've seen to how it really is now is Generation Kill.

Yeah.
Take it from someone who's been to Iraq twice, unless you've only been shot once or twice by an AK or less, you aren't pulling shit out. You get caught in an IED, RPG, grenade(even flashbangs), or mortar blast, you're done. Either dead or at least out of the fight. Same goes for machine gun fire. If anything, you'll be trying to pull out your tourniquet and put it on before you bleed out.

I'm not sure where you're going with this rant, but I fail even more to see why you are daring someone to go to Iraq "without a buddy, training, or have an understand what you're up against." How does that relate at all to the idea that movies are not real life, but instead dramatizations of real life and thus shouldn't be taken the complete truth?

Well, if Lucent would ever come and visit IU again, I could meet her.

Hopefully will be heading towards Bryan's area when he decides to get hitched. So I'll be visiting a few of you guys then, too. Jenny, you can have my man on one hand and me on the other. ;)

And I have had four of my friends join the forums, but none of them post anymore, so whatever. Last one to post was probably Gweedo, but I think he changed his name. And my other friend changed his name too much, and I just told him to GTFO.

Why do you want to defend others for? I mean, why are you always trying to talk me down? "I fail to see where you're coming from." And saying how does that relate to what I'm saying. PAY ATTENTION.
Black Hawk Down was about the Army. Rangers and shit.
My point still remains, military war movies show bonding between comrades. You had a buddy that you really like or cared about, and would do anything to save him. Right?

But, yeah, my bad. I had thought marines have a certain clothing, so I assumed most of the guys in there were marines. Again, my bad.
Eh, some of the shit in the movies is realistic, or was at the time. The closest thing I've seen to how it really is now is Generation Kill.
I've seen a lot of the marine movies, more so than the others. I'm trying to remember names, but I do remember Jarhead (sp?), The Marine (Yes, the whole outside-of-the-war movie, not too realistic, but you get the point), my favorite military movie would have to be Enemies behind lines (again, sp?).

But my point is, when you seen ENOUGH military and marine movies, coupled with a realistic game - you put two and two together to create a feeling that you feel like...you know. One situation stands out vividly is where a flashbang renders your hearing deaf if you're too close to a bomb or flashbang.
Take it from someone who's been to Iraq twice, unless you've only been shot once or twice by an AK or less, you aren't pulling shit out. I understand you can be blown to pieces, but sometimes, during desparate measures, you would have to throw a bomb, or DROP a bomb. But I do understand what you mean.

You'd have to cover up those wounds to prevent death or bleeding excessively out.

At other times, you'd have to take out a bomb to save others. Or prevent others from converging on a section...At other times, you need to stay on guard by having your gun armed and ready. Otherwise you're dead if you don't.

Yeah. Anyway, that was hopeless and depressing.

So!

I'm down with Chicago, but I'm not the dude to talk to about Indiana. There are particular house rules and what-not that are covered from our previous experiences with less than savory people who have come to hang out with us. No, none of them were from this place, so stop it!

Contact Skull Kid or THE HAWK!! about potential Indiana meets.

Otherwise, you guys can always come crash at my place. My fiance's cats might try to bite your dick, but other than that you should be okay. You Illinois/midwest/somewhat South but-not-quite folks should definitely start talking. Maybe even include me in some planning and what-not?

I actually have some friends who could possibly get us into Disney for free or either just really really really cheap. I think Disney wanted to build on their land, so they relocated the family and gave them crazy awesome discounts and free tickets for life.

I doubt I could get them to give everyone tickets, but surely we could pool together and divvy up the tickets. Be better than buying all new together?

I started thinking which is a new thing for me...

During E3 there is a lot of club parties like Kotaku and Destructoid party. Even though we can't rent out a bar, we can have a big group E-mpire get together. I think as a incentive we can allow non staff a chance to go inside E3 during the few off hours to play games. A big drunkie fest, guitar play, ps3, and a cramp hotel room = win.

Obviously im not speaking for the staff but i thought it be a cool idea.

Seth. Lets just say you guys are lucky you guys weren't in the same hotel room as he was.

He stole not just the PSP. He stole our staff's stuff, including Dakota's 360 faceplate which was limited. He even used the staff's money towards drinking and ended up shitfaced outside sleeping like a coo'ing little baby.

Secondly, he's been tactless to a woman (which you can see in the video john posted a while ago - yes, that blondie).

Lets just say that fucker is lucky that I wasn't the boss of him, because if he was, and he did that in MY team. There wouldn't be another day at E3 for him. I wish the staff or Dakota said something to me about it. But no, John kept everything in the dark until after E3. I'm like, "WTF!? WHY THE FUCK didn't you tell me John!?" Because at the time, I was the one who bought the www.xe360.com domain, and I was the one who was hosting the site. And someone messed with MY server? Fuck Seth.

Next time I see him. I will lay the smacketh down on his candy ass. That's a promise.
You know once i saw a picture of xbox evolved I thought he was seth.
John is blonde. But he's taller and MUCH. And I mean, MUCH bigger than Seth. I'm surprised John hasn't knocked the shit out of Seth. I still don't understand why he hasn't.

And I don't even understand how he let him get away with it during E3.

He was at E3 2005. Well, we had 2 rooms between the whole team and I wasn't having him sleep in mine so he technically didn't sleep in the same room but then again that other room was practically never used for anything but sleep for a few hours anyway.

I don't even recall how he got on staff but after seeing him walking down the hall to talk with the GCA guys I pulled him from staff.

Oh. Ho. Oh. Ho. Ho. Ho. WTF? He did?

Stupid. I talked to AMN while with XE, but only because I'm trying to be nice and professional about it. But TALKING to the staff at GCA like buddy, buddy? I would have done the same thing. Nice judgement there, Jimmy.

We had a two hotel room setup, too. But only because we had more staff than having one empty...so he slept in the other room, where dakota and his part of the XE staff...We separated our teams in two, as in Team A, and Team B.

I stayed close to John, and his two best friends. The minute I met Seth, I didn't wholeheartdly trust him. I just knew him from GCA, but learning later, I regret being friendly towards him. He used to have one of the coolest sigs on GCA, period...but learning about his dark side, what a fucking douche. He didn't live up to his "status" in my eyes, or others for that matter. Everyone at GCA used to respect him as a member, and always like, "hey, Seth, nice sig!"

He stole not just the PSP. He stole our staff's stuff, including Dakota's 360 faceplate which was limited. He even used the staff's money towards drinking and ended up shitfaced outside sleeping like a coo'ing little baby.
He continued pushing this further by posting:
Could you imagine all of us going to E3? I could see someone getting in a fight/shot/stabbed/arrested/sodomized/all of the above.
If this wasn't an insult post, then what's the point of posting this? Huh? I'm not stupid.

I'll go on Travis' case now:
i really respect your sig, carlos.

nice sig!
Compare this to:
The minute I met Seth, I didn't wholeheartdly trust him. I just knew him from GCA, but learning later, I regret being friendly towards him. He used to have one of the coolest sigs on GCA, period...but learning about his dark side, what a fucking douche. He didn't live up to his "status" in my eyes, or others for that matter. Everyone at GCA used to respect him as a member, and always like, "hey, Seth, nice sig!"
......Yeeeeeah, I don't see the point of what they're trying to insinuate.

And frosty, this isn't the first time Travis has done this....He's been doing it for quite a while, but I let it slide. I brushed it off. I have been letting Travis get away with his tactics lately.

Actually, I don't think Todd's latest post has anything to do with you at all. I'm reading it but I'm definitely not getting the, "oh shit, he's insulting Carlos" vibe. In fact, I don't think the other post you used has anything to do with you either. I think Todd is just making a general comment about being drunk at E3 and finding the thought somewhat enjoyable. As for his recent post, I'm sure he's just making a comment about whatever crazy shenanigans people might get into if he, and a group of others from here, got drunk at E3.
I think you just need to relax a bit, man. Not everyone is insulting you.

Oh, okay, so I'm supposed to believe that. Why does it seem like everyone is trying to back up others?

I mean, everytime everyone flames me, nobody brings up the fact, and nobody defends me for it. But others get defended when its called for, like your post, HPK.

Suddenly, I'm the bad guy around here. Great, what else is new?

So, I guess I should let everyone flamebait, or flat out flame me and I'm the one who has to put up with it?

EDIT: Frosty, leave the posts as is. I have messaged Viper about this thread.

I'm sorry, HPK if I did anything to make you want to defend Todd.

I think it would be a riot to see everyone get together at GDC in Frisco and get hammered.....I'm feeling a Billy Idol song coming on. The transients/bumc there are far worse than in LA. Anywho, I'm the only here that can bait Carlos, so you guys need to back off! :boxing:

there may be more of them... but many are hippies and some of them are actually pretty cool.

Yes, they are hippies... least you forget it!

oh no....I know that. I just think the night life in frisco is far more entertaining because of all the transients. Most majors cities you go to you generally see on or two people walking around talking to the sky(or themselves). Just multiply that scenario by 100 and you get the Bay Area.

yeah, lol. i had a lot of fun last time i was there in "the city". it was hella cool.

Both of you shut up. BOTH OF YOU.

I don't know why you guys brought these comments up.

Travis, if you want to continue posting at E-mpire, you better quit these flamebait posts, or I'll speak to Viper.

If you don't like me at all, Todd. There's the door, why're you trying to set up a fight?

i'm sorry, carlos, i am truly sorry. i'll stop.

seriously.

This thread has turned really confusing...

I think it'd be fun to get shitfaced with a bunch of random people from an internet forum. Especially if there is Karaoke. Karaoke is always fun shitfaced.

I guess I never realized how many Chicagoans were around. When I'm not in Champaign I live right outside Joliet...so like 45 minutes southwest of Downtown, right down 55

PS - I had a dream last night with Mary in it for some reason, and in my dream I was like oh shit I have to remember to post in that thread that I met Mary. I've reached a new personal low...

Whoa dude, what's with all the hostility? HPK's completely right, actually. I just meant if me and Bryan went to E3, some wacky shit would probably happen, not to or against anyone we know obviously. Bryan could bring up the time when we went to Ann Arbor and got shitfaced drunk and it was still daylight out. We spent most of the day yelling at people and stumbling around town.

That's mainly what I meant. What made you think I would want to stab anyone here? I don't have any negative beef with anyone like that here. Hell, I never even came anywhere near close to wanting to do that, and I hope I never do.

Yeah, Ann Arbor was basically the very core of my hopes and dreams realized. Good times, man.

And I'm sorry that there was confusion about your post. You're fine. It was a misunderstanding that was not your fault. You didn't come off that way at all, and I'm still pretty confused as to how anyone could have thought so. We like it when you come back here, keep showing up sometimes man.

The only member i've met in person is handycrap101, as he lives down the street from me and introduced me to the forums.
