Midway will be publishing the next 3 unreal games: Unreal Championship 2 (XBX) & two Unreal Tournament games (PC + next-gen console, aka Xbox2).

Press Release: http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/040728/285758_1.html

Unreal Championship 2 has also been delayed to February 2005. Just about every big console FPS has been delayed to next year: Far Cry Instincts, Star Wars Republic Commando, Area 51, Geist, BattleField Modern Combat, Snowblind, DarkWatch, etc.

They all fear Halo2 :headbang:

As far as I know Eidos never had anything to do with Unreal .. you're probably thinking of Epic, they are still making the games. Just that Midway will now publish them instead of Atari.

Midway has definitly made a comeback. Their game quality went way up, sales are up, NBA Ballers sold great and Mortal Kombat will do good this holiday then Unreal Championship 2 should sell well also. And the Unreal Engine 3 game should sell like hotcakes.

"We're not making any significant gameplay changes to the game either, but to give us more time to get our heads around it, we've moved the date to Q1 2005," the Midway rep continued. "Epic Games know what they're doing. We'll show it in San Diego at the end of August at our game event. And yes, it's still exclusive to Xbox."

It's so obvious they just want to avoid DOOM 3, Halo 2 and Half-Life 2.

Very surprising move, but the article says that Microsoft and Epic are still partners. Midway with Unreal, crazy. They also mention Unreal Tournament 2008. Now that is insane.
