If you have $70, buy a copy of each game and be thankful for owning both. If you only have $20.00, beg someone for $30 more and buy yourself a copy of Madden. It's a close call, but someone has to win, just ask the Panthers. - ign reviewer

let the madden haters begin to bitch

Like I've always said: I don't give two shits about reviewers. I base it on my own opinion.

Well, good for Madden. I have a sneaking suspicion I'd still prefer this year's ESPN over Madden 2005, but whatever. I'm glad to see that EA evidently made some positive changes to the series.

Well Madden does have the online leagues too now...but...you need a damn credit card to play online, how lame is that?

The ESPN game is so good that I don't even care about how good Madden is. If I can spend 20 dollars and get the best football game I've ever played, why pay 30 more to get one that is barely better, if better at all?

^ Well put, indeed. ESPN is an amazing value, no two ways about it.

you need a credit card to get on live, wow lets copy it again, neh to the naysayer.

Also Espn has too many big plays on first down off bullshit safety miscoverage.

No surprise Madden would get the higher score. I mean, its Madden, after all.

Thats because Live costs money.

Taken from the PS2 review:
No longer will you be able to quit, then create a new name and hope to get away with it. Now you'll create your name in the EA Sports Nation, provide a credit card for identification (the service is free, don't worry), and when you play against other gamers, you'll be able to rate them similar to what you'd see on eBay so you can tell the difference between someone serious about their Madden and some kid who's quit out of the last four games because he was getting blown out. Look for the leagues to be up and running in time for the NFL kickoff this September.

That really sucks for the kids with parents who are anal about their credit cards going online.

I'm not saying Madden sucks or anything its probably good.
For $20 I'm fine with ESPN.

Every once and a while, I like the occasional big play on ESPN...keeps things exciting and unpredictable. But that's just me.

My feelings exactly. Visual Concepts makes the better game I think, and at the price Sega is offering ESPN is the better buy. IGN may have rated it this way but Gamespot gave Madden 2005 a 9.0 and they gave ESPN 2k5 a 9.2.

I think that IGN just has a bunch of Madden whores working there, anyway. Although I guess someone could say that Gamespot was comprised of ESPN whores, but whatever.

I'm not all to big on football, ask Wraith554, hell i doubt i could name 10 players.

Even so, I enjoy watching the game. To me my $20 on ESPN was well spent. I like that ESPN can be played "deeply" or just a fun/light game.

Sure im a moron when football is involved, but why spend an extra $30 when to me the experience would be the same?

The kids who's parents won't let them go online shouldn't be gaming online, I don't want some 10 year old who doesn't know how to lose to quit in the middle of the game, fine with me if the little shits cannot get on.

Oh and you cannot do HB screens in this game i have caught one of 50
