I love these kinds of movies. I dug Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, even though I rented it as the captioned original version.

What I want to know is what did Quentin Tarantino have to do with this film? He played no part in its development, so why is his the only name (besides Jet Li) in the commercials?
Anyway, I'm seeing it with a friend after work on Friday, if there's a showing late enough.

Did anyone see it today yet? I'm expecting the movie to be like an equivalent of Anglo-Saxon fantasy Lord of the Rings but using the fantasy of the Chinese. I can't get over how awesome it looks.

I saw it... It wasn't the typical kinda thing. It was all in chinise with subtitles.
The fights where awsome, but I didn't like the anti gravity stuff. I don't mind when its used correctly (see The Matrix) But it's kind of silly to watch when a character takes a small step forward which propels them 10 feet across the room while staying a foot off the ground... Or when two people have a entire fight on a lake.

The story was relitibly good. Although I wish they went into some backstory or anything. It was almost like you where expected to know everything that was going on, even though half the time you're like "wtf".

The music in the movie was awsome, my only major complaint is sound effects. Some of them come out so loud (clining of swords, arrows, girl screaming) that it actualy hurt to lisen too.

If you're a mainstream action movie person, hmm wait to rent it. If you're right into that kinda stuff then run to theator right away.

Just saw it in theater. It's great. It's cool to see that every "storys" have different colors for the clothing and the surrounding.

Go see it, it's a most see for the story, the battles, the visual and special effects, the acting and just every thing else.

That was a great movie. I have absolutely no complaints. All I can say is, "Go watch Hero!"

Also, there was a preview for "The Grudge" (starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, a.k.a. Buffy the Vampire Slayer) when I saw Hero. "The Grudge" is like "The Ring", in that it's based on a Japanese horror movie about curses and 'dead' people and stuff. I've wanted to watch the original Japanese version ("Ju-on") ever since a girl in my History class told me about it. The Eng. version looks appealing, though.

I couldn't stop laughing in the theater at how stupid this movie was.

He just doesn't apreciate the art of japanese martial arts.

^'Hero' is all Kung-fu (from the Xiao'lin monks in Zhong Guo a.k.a. China). There's no Japanese martial arts in Hero.

I liked the subtitles. They helped me learn 3 words in chinese: shih= yes, bu= no, ni= you.

The movie had such horrible special effects, shitty dialogue, and a stupid concept.

Notedog, u need to develop an open mind for movies. This movie wasn't a go kill this guy movie. It had a deeper meaning. Its the way this movie went that made it special. Different scenarios and everything
