My Talon lies dead in the parking lot at my work. I am at the end of the line with this car and I only have had it for 3 months. I brought the car for 6,000. It had allot of work done to it to start with, many new parts. The only thing it need was tires and a new turbo. Well after I spent $800 on the new turbo, then I bought brand new tires for $200. I went to have the tires installed only to learn my brakes were fucked. I had to get new roatars and calipers that came to another $800. All was fine until 2 weeks ago, it started to burn oil extreamly bad so I took it in to have a bunch of oil seals replaced and the awd transfer case. this came to $900. I have had my car back for 3 days now. My car lies dead in a parking lot due to a broken starter, that will likely cost around $300 to fix.

I loved this car when it was working, it was the fastest, most enjoyable car I had ever drivin. But this just pushed me over the edge. If I keep my POS who knows what will go wrong with it. But if I sell the car it will be at a big loss. I dont know what I should do.

It costs so much for car parts, doesn't it?

My dad just took his truck in (the check engine light came on) and they told him he had a bad sensor and they replaced it. They also told him the brakes were worn down. Cost: $500. Rip-off.

I try and fix every thing I can myself. But I have very few tools in my garage for working on cars. So I get raped constently at my mechanics.

You need to make a freind that knows a shit load about cars and has the tools to work on your car. It saves a lot of money trust me.

Meh. Starters shouldn't cost that much, hell, I got a NEW starter for my Outback for 100 bucks, so I highly doubt 300, unless your mechanic is cheating you.

Hang in there man, Going through this will make it all worth while when you finally get it working right, it just feels...Sweeter, cause you know you had to work or it. Hang in there.

I work. I was working full time for the last year, but now that I am back in school full time I cut my hours back.

*Updated*

Well I feel so stupid. The problem was a loose wire on the starter. It turns out the starter is brand new, the laster owner just didnt hook it up very well. It only came out to be $80 including the towing fee. I'm so happy it was nothing major.

That's nice, but an edit would have done nicely...
