Anyone wana help me with my History? Nazi Germany?
learned dat in 6th grade, heh.
Hitler waz bad. He sent jews, lesbos, and other non-blonde haired blue eyes pplz to concentration camps. they all died. the americans and some other pplz kicked their bootays with an atomic bomb. the end!
 aren't i nice?
oh, and the nazis were Hitler's eeeeeeeeebil sidekicks. Make up the rest, they had horns, fangs, ext.
also during World War II, the very first bomb dropped on Berlin by the Allies killed
the only elephant in the Berlin Zoo.

Actually, it's more complicated than that. For one, the Nazis were not the "ultimate evil" of the time being; the USSR was known for killing approx almost 8 times as many innocents as the Nazis. It was more conveinient to declare war on Germany than it was to declare war on the USSR, however. One is taught about Auschwitz and Mengele, but events like the Katyn Massacre of 1940 (when the Soviets lined up 10,000-something Polish soldiers and executed them all) are barely whispered. The Nazis went up against the US, England and the Soviet Union (whom I mentioned was even more "evil" than the Third Reich).
(Note, the following two paragraphs are about England and the USSR)
England, former "empire," had colonies and investments over the globe. Owning Malta, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Burma, India, Egypt, and parts of the Middle East acquired as part of the British Mandate meant that the British were responsible for fighting everywhere. The main military commander to know is Lord Montgomery, responsible for repulsing the Afrika Korps at the Battle of El Alamein.
The Soviet Union was originally teamed up with Germany. Such was their "alliance" that Minister Molotov once said "Facism is subjective." In 1941, the Germans attacked Russia under codename Operation Barbarossa (named after the leader of the First Reich). The Germans had great success...until winter, which they had not prepared for. Also, the Japanese allocated forces from the Russian borders to attack British holdings in China, so Russian General Georgi Zukhov was able to reallocate troops from that border to repulse the Germans at Stalingrad. The Germans did have one final major offensive after this, at the Battle of Kursk. The largest tank battle in the history of war, over 5,000 tanks were destroyed in the course of the battle. The Germans did come close to winning, but Manstein was fired at the last minute. After this, the Soviet Union was on the offensive.
If you need to know more about individual Nazis, here they are.
Adolph Hitler: The name is legendary, if only for the hatred it invokes. Basically the figurehead of the party.
Joseph Gobbels (the "o" in Gobbels has an umalut): The propaganda minister of the time.
Hermann Goering: Once the second-in-command to Manfred von Richstofen, he later became head of the Luftwaffe. Famous for persuading Hitler to use the Luftwaffe to bomb boats fleeing Dunkirk, rather than letting Guderian send tanks in to capture the British Expeditionary Force.
Heinrich Himmler: Head of the SS (Schossestaffel).
Heinz Guderian: While people argue that John Fuller was the father of modern tank warfare, it was Guderian whom was known for the term "blitzkrieg" and the belief that tanks were to be used as a spearhead, rather than as infantry support. He also is famous for never being on Hitler's good side, and he finally got fed up and quit.
Erich Manstein: He is a funny figure in a way. Manstein was another military leader, famous for the Manstein plan, which involved sneaking the majority of troops through the Ardennes Forest after feinting an attack on the Low Countries. Manstein was also the leader at the Battle of Kursk, but was recalled at the last minute by Hitler. He refused to return, and was subsequently fired. Manstein was tried for war crimes, but was acquitted and became a military advisor for West Germany. He died in 1971.
Werner von Braun: Remember this guy from "October Skies"? He was in charge of the V1 and V2 cruise missile projects. He eventually was recruited by the US and became a major figure for NASA.
Joseph Mengele: Immoralized by Gregory Peck in "Boys from Brazil," as a mad scientist of sorts, he is depicted as your evil dude whom experiments on concentration camp prisoners ("how long does it take this person to die?"). After the war, the CIA temporarily recruited him for assistance in the MKULTRA program. However, in the middle of the project, Mengele apparently develops a conscience, flees to Argentina, and commits suicide.
Adolph Eichmann: Cheif proponent of the extermination camps, he was the guy whom claimed credibility for the 6 million dead prisoners. He was tried in 1968, and hanged by the Israelis.

And i thank you MagicJuggler. This is all the stuff i'll be needing to know. I find World War 2 and history in general so interesting. My favourite so far has been the Irish and Bristish reaction to World War 1. Conscription along with other things. Then there was the Irish Famine which i know all about. So interesting and fun to learn...

Give me an example of a war lost on a single mistake.

WestSide, that was on June 6th, 1944. Hans von Luck asked permission to move his Panzer group onto the beaches to drive back the Americans, but they all feared waking up Hitler and since all Panzer movements had to be first cleared by Hitler, they couldn't move them.
But I think Hitler's biggest mistake was Operation Barbarossa.
