If you have SSBM, how many KOs do you have, and with what character? Meaning the one with the highest KO count.

1,555 under my name.
19,296 all up in the game.
I haven't used that name in a year and a half so I've probably got somewhere around the 5,000 mark.

Wow thats good!
I just got done beating my brothers ass. We did a 20 stock match, and I won with 5 stock left. Plus my little brother won a school tournament in SSBM. So that tells you how good I am.

Not really... We'd have to see your lil bro and how well he plays. What's your Win To Loss Ratio?
Mine is 8 Wins to Every Loss.

Dunno the total count, I don't feel like checking right now, heh. But I know the character with the most is Mario.

I bet that Brian and I could on a team, take any other 2 of you in a melee team match of any kind.
With Link, I am swift and can beat you down. And with Ness, Brian would just keep jumping around and would pop down when you aren't looking and blast you into the Abyss. We have never lost on a team. It's been close.....but never.

Stupid Nintendo with their lack of online. Me and Jimmy.C would love to disprove that claim. We have never lost a team match either. Unfortunately, no one will play us around here any more so it's just me VS Jim and that get's pretty boring.

I hate to sound conceited Samwise but you would be owned. Not just by the majority of these forums, but the world in general. Go to smashboards.com and you'll see...
Smash Bros is a game that requires a lot more strategy and knowledge of the game then many people seem to think. Things such as R Cancelling, R Recovering, Wall Clinging, Super Shield, Small Jumping, Turtle Grapling, Spiking, Air Item Grabbing, Item Reflecting, Projectile reflecting and Wave dashing amongst others seem to often go unnoticed by many so called experts. It has many elusive tricks and secrets that are known to what seems to be a very dedicated few, and I have a feeling many of you trash talkers perhaps have yet to discover or master some of these essential techniques. I am willing to bet that some of you may indeed be much better then me, but Im also willing to bet that there is not any one of you that I can't hang with. I am fully aware of the games many tricks and use them to my advantage at a solid rate.
In any case, my systems are in the basement, and im not going to go all the way down stairs and turn on my game just to see what my records are like. Also I never actually owned the game, and the game I have down stairs(which is being lended to me at the moment) has the records of my new smash save file, because I erased the old one. Even still though, I often play the game with one or more of my many friends who do own the game, often times not with my own save file, so I would say my experience with the game is still up to snuff even if my records might indicate otherwise.
My two more proficient characters at this time are probably Ganondorf and Mewtwo, but I can play most of the characters in the game competitively as well as competently.

i know a very little amount of these tricks so I always get pwned at this game. it is so much fun when there are 4 people involved. I kinda want to delete my file so i can go through the fun of beating this game again, but i think i might just use my animal crossing memory card or something like that.

Exactly. All these little tricks are key to being 1337. I've been talked trash to by tons of people, and I beat them like they are a level 4 computer.
But what is Wave Dashing? I probably do it all the time without knowing. Also, it is possible to catch items in air?

Actually, even I have yet to master wave dashing...it's the only trick on my list that eludes me on a consistent basis, The best players in the world use it...visit gamefaqs and check out the more recent facts(look for faqs that were written this year) and look at it, the newer faqs where written by champion players, so they know just about everything. The game also has a few nifty character specific tricks, such as the infamous "Bowser Train" attack and the Ice Climbers double sided alternating assault. (again check out the most recent bowser and Ice Climbers faq faq at Gamefaqs for more)
You can grab falling items out of the air by jumping at them and tapping z when your in it's vicinity. You can also grab items that are resting on platforms without actually having to land on the platform by doing the same thing (saves a lot of time). You can do the same for items that are being tossed at you. My friend is so good at that that whenever I use a character that has grabbable projectiles(coughpeachlinkcough) he'll just snatch em out of the air and immediately throw them back at me. You should see my friend and his brother play...they are absolutely nuts at the game...ill probably tape a fight between the 3 of us and see what I can do about getting it online.

One of my friends has this uber leet trick with Samus where once he gets you up to a certain percentage, he can knock you up and juggle you off the screen with the missiles by timing and spacing them just right, I would call it cheesy but since it requires so much skill to master let alone use it as proficiently as he does that I give him credit for it...never seen or heard anyone else do that on any faq or in any discussion.
For anyone wondering, I chose to play Ganondorf and Mewtwo as my main characters because they are such opposites. Ganondorf is a raw offense machine (a real contender for best player in the game if you believe in tiers) and Mewtwo is a tricky keep away character, the contrast in styles usually annoys people into mistakes. Im really starting to dig Mewtwo a lot though...many people say he is underpowered, and in some ways he is...but when you can revover from a near death smash and come back to the stage with just your second jump...it's worth it. He also has the longest dash/roll in the game, making him nearly impervious to down+A smashes(for the uninitiated, the Down+A smashes are usually effective anti-roll attacks because they usually cover both sides of a character) his forward+special actually out-ranges and out prioritizes marth's standing and forward A attacks(which have a great deal of range and many people use it to annoy offensive characters because its hard to get inside someone who constantly uses Marth's standing attacks due to their so quickness and range). His back and up throws are also very strong. But forget about all that, the art of teleporting is what makes or breaks a Mewtwo player. Mewtwo's teleport protects him from getting hit until he reappears...and if your opponent doesnt know where your going to appear then you have nothing to worry about. I constantly teleport all over the place with mewtwo, and I even often fake his teleport with his air-dodge, it's a riot. It's fun to play characters that few people use, because most people usually deem them as to eccentric and to hard to learn...and while those things may be true about Mewtwo, the end result is satisfying.

I must try the item catching.
I still don't under stand wavedashing. I guess you just can't do it with falco cause he's a high jumper...
Me and my friend have some close battles too. Fox vs Falco. It's just "tinks' half of the time.

Falco, Marth, Shiek/Zelda and Ganondorf are top tiers in my book. If you use Fox, I suggest you ask around gamefaqs forums and look around at the faqs...Fox has one of those special tricks I was telling you about...but I don't really know it.
These would be the tiers in my book:
Top Tiers:
Zelda/Shiek
Marth
Falco
Ganondorf
2nd Tier:
Link
Fox
Samus
Dr. Mario
Captain Falcon
Bowser
And then there is everybody else....but those are generally, at least based on what I have seen, the characters who most people use in high level play.

That sounds seriosuly pimpin. Im gonna have to try and get the hang of that. Which missiles, does he use, by the way, the straight-on, more powerful missiles, or the weaker tracking missiles?

He uses the smash power missiles.
Good luck learning the trick. I think part of what he does is that he small jumps and then right before he lands he shoots the first power missile then the landing cancels out the lag (you can't R cancel special moves, but in this case the landing itself cancels some of the lag) allowing him to immediately fire another one. The result is that your character will keep bouncing and bouncing on his missiles until your smashed off the screen. The rest is just an incredibly solid perception of when the trick will work and when to initiate it...both of which he has due to the fact that he's played the game competitively for so long.

You should see him and his brother play each other...it's crazy as hell. They usually play Top Tier characters and they use a few 2nd tier characters but it doesnt matter who each brother picks...they are absolutely amazing and have incredibly tactical fights. I especially love it when my friend picks Marth and his brother picks Zelda/Shiek(two top tier characters)...it's amazing how good their fights are.

Being persistent won't help matters, and may even drive people away from this thread. You must allow the thread to grow and evolve, or else your persistence will earn you a negative reputation and the ultimate death of this thread. I believe I already explained to you that my KO's are not that impressive because I usually play it on other people's files, and everyone else with whom i was talking to had already posted their KO counts. Just chill out and join in on the conversation and help allow the thread to grow and reach the interests of a greater amount of people instead of killing it.

I love it when me and my friends learn the extra little techniques coz we start to play the game heaps again. It's our favourite game but we just aren't as avid gamers as we used to be nowadays.
