Are you guys going to stick with Nintendo or Microsoft or Sony?

I know I'll be getting a Nintendo console first. I'll prolly get an XBOX 2 later for the sport titles and XBOX live.

Sony and Nintendo and use my neighbor for Microsoft.

Revolution definetly and if Nintendo can't get support to equal out compared to this gen, I may pick up one of the others. Unless all those games are on PC, then what's the point?

I'll be getting all 3 again and probably at launch. I feel sorry for the people only getting one console, they will be missing out on some great games.

^I agree...damn...that's all that I can say...I'm probably getting the N:R first if I'm impressed enough, maybe xenon later down the road...sony really doesn't impress me anymore though, so no to ps3 probably...just like this gen...

Revolution $200, PS3 $400, Xbox $200. You decide.

How did you come up with these prices? It is very doubtful that any system will be $200 next gen and what makes you think PS3 will be $400?

Fanboy for life. Revolution and nothing else, baby!

I know what I will be missing but its not hard to know that if I lets say played sports games since the Sega Genesis and never really liked it continuing with the SNES, Saturn, PSX, N64, DC, PS2, GCN, PC, etc then obviously most likely I will never like them in future generations unless they are like one of my last gaming options at the moment. Again I'll try to go with Rev for now. 2nd would be one of the other two. PS3 for the Japanese games or Xenon for the RPGs and some action games.

Also there is a reason to get games on consoles that have a version on the PC. As long as it has online you really don't have to worry about requirements because until the end of its life which is like 5 years and you'll get online games made for it. Unlike a PC where you might have to update and spend a lot every 2 years. I could go and on about this but it depends on how you look at it. For me I only see the what games on a console might have that the PC doesn't and vice versa.

Fo rme, I plan on keeping my comp up to date anyway so to buy a console for the same games is a bit wasteful.

That is me though, others may not be so fortunate to upgrade their comps every two years.

GameCube, PS2, and XBox are such great consoles and 5 years is to short of a life span for them if you ask me. i think i might just stick to handhelds...

Kevin

It all depends on which console comes out showing the best strategy. I like Nintendo, and while I think they have the best ideals for a gaming company, they are stubborn and lately haven't been executing.

Nintendo has shown brief moments of what could be greatness in the recent months but if they fail to capitalize on it and MS brings the goods, I may just pick up a box with a Box in it.

I might go back to nintendo but with the way it looks right now I will probably stick with MS.

I don't have time for more then one console.

I'll definately get Revolution, if only for Nintendo's amazing first party games that never cease to entertain me, despite what the public might think. I'll probably only wind up getting 1 other next gen, I'll have to wait and see which one appeals to me more.

Though i disagree with your post, I can see where it comes from. Nintendo better sort out their problems by next gen.

As for me though, Fanboy for life :D

I'll go with the system that has the most 2D fighters (probably ps3) and the second console will probably be one that has the next resident evils.

i have no idea what iw ill get between XBox 2 or Revolution but as for Sony there isn't a chance i would buy their system i was way too disappointed with the PS2 for doing that how they do so well is beyond me. I just think once Revolution comes out i will be too old to play Nintendo games or just might not enjoy those kind anymore but i really hope not cuase Zelda and MP kick ass! :)

Eh I've been thinking but Nintendo really got somewhere with the DS. They didn't have to do much with the GB systems since they were cheap, good battery life, and had a fortunate monopoly in the handheld industry. After SNes the only thing that excited me was the fact that the next two systems were Nintendo. Its kind of dissapointing how GCN just wasn't there but "BOOM!" out of nowhere within one year we're getting a DS! Before DS the second biggest thing that happen to Nintendo IMO was Zelda OoT and that is sad. Because of the DS I'm happy for Nintendo but next home console generation I'll think I'll stick with just the DS and PC gaming. If Nintendo can be as promising with the DS then I'll believe their words on Revolution being much more than the DS ever offered.

Sony hates 2D games. They don't like the fact that they don't push the hardware limits. If your hoping for a lot of 2D fighters on PS3 (when it comes out) I think you'll be disapointed.

I'll probably stick to handhelds this year... I haven't had much time to play games when not on the go and some reason both protables interest me more.

I'll probably buy at least one system though, it totally depends on the RPGS and nothing else.

Hmmm, yeah i know about that, but look at the slew of 2D fighters on the PS2. It's the most this gen, next to the dreamcast. And regardless to say the ps1 had the most 2D fighters in it's gen. If it's backwards combatible, with ps1 and ps2, then i'll be contempt.

Actually the saturn had far more...

Plus the saturn had ram cartridge with perfect 2d games

King of fighters/Xmen Vs Street Fighter/Street Fighter Alpha 2/Waku Waku 7/Darkstalkers 3/Dungeons and Dragons collection (not really a fighter but 1 and 2 perfect arcade home additions and amazing title) and the list goes on... The sega saturn had the most and best 2d fighters of all systems...

Sony hasn't gotten better. Sega has gotten worse (SONIC F-ing HEROS!) but they still got some kicks in them. Like Feel the Magic... thats like Wario Ware... but with boobs.
