I need a car. I'm getting my license in less than 2 weeks. My parents are willing to spend up to $2000. What do you guys think I should get

for 2k....
I'd go with an older civic. They last forever, and are cheap as nuts.
Or an older Subaru, either way.

1985 Dodge Omni GLH Turbo. GLH= Goes Like Hell. These cars are awesome. They only make 142 hp but are super light weight. I want one of these to do the ultimate sleeper project

I know I'm biased, but I would definitely recommend a Volkswagen. Specifically an old GTI. It'll be reliable, roomy, and fun to drive.

White Honda Civic with a manual transmission.
Contrary to the others here, at your age, the only thing you're getting out of a fast car is higher insurance and lower gas mileage, something you don't need when you're on a budget.

Get something with good gas mileage. That's all... so Honda or Toyota. Maybe that Scion thing you said you liked. The box thing.

For $2000? Gotta find a good deal. For my first car I managed to get a 98 Sentra for about $1200. Needed a new clutch but hey I'm not complaining. Nice MPG.
