One thing that largley dissapoints me about the coming consoles is the fact that what has been and will be the revolutionary RPG series has come to PS3 but not to the Revolution. We know that the Rev. will be just as if not more powerful than the other systems and we know that many other key develpoers are standing behind it already. So i cant help to be frustrated and dissapointed when I hear that the next version of Morrowind will come to every platform BUT the Revolution. Nintendo hasnt had much love from RPGs in its history but Morrowind is a different kind ofbeast. If anything you think that Bethesda Softworks would embrace Nintendo for doing the same thing that they are: being different. I think that anybody who read that article in the latest GI cant help but be awed and excited to own the next version of Morrowind, but i was sure that they would finally bring it to Nintendo. I was wrong.

I don't think they have much info on the REv yet and that is why they left it out...for now.
The Next X and PS3 have both given devs a handful of info regarding what their new systems can do but Nintendo has not because it wants to keep it's revolutionary ideas to themselves so they can't be copied by Sony and MS.
Don't sweat this. Once Nintendo drops more info, E3, expect to see more games for all 3 or Rev only.

You do know that there isn't alot known about the Revolution. Also, Devs have an early build or estimates for the Xenon and PS3. Why create something for a system that you know nothin on? If it doesn't come out for the Revolution then thats a big mistake. For now, just wait, its way to early for them to start sayin shit about what next gen games are coming out. Thats just stupid to do

Because theyd do it for both Sony and Microsoft. They would make a game blindly just of them. I really think this is another case of haters on Nintendo.

Thats cuz Sony and MS are lettin things out the bag. I don't know why they'd make it for the PS3 seein as they have nothin on it, but I mean MS probably gave them dev kits since the Xenon is comin out next year

The fact that the focus is once again on freedom is what turns me on.

I think its mostly cause Nintendo is being secretive. Im sure a LOT of games will be announced for the platform before, during, or after e3 2k5

Maybe they're being smart and staying away from Nintendo cause of it's failure at GameCube?
Viper

Considering the GC and Xbox are neck and neck in worldwide sales, I'd hardly consider that a failure....unless you're calling the Xbox a failure as well.

oh ho, run ixion run! the fanboys! the fanboys!! *shields eyes*
its not a nintendo hateing conspiracy, no company does that. they just dont bother releasing games on consoles where the game would sell like crap and thus make no profit. thats all thats always about, just making money. if it wont make money then its not worth releasing. judgeing from the gamecube`s game lineup [up until march this year when i left the western world] there was like no good western games on the GC, only japanese games. thus, i pressume, companies are tkaing that as western games sell shit on nintendo consoles so they are reluctant to go to the...whatever the next nintendo is called. gamesphere? game hexagonal prism? whatever. anyway, i just thought of all this as i wrote it. i`m sure their were a few good western games i`ve forgotten.

How can you call Gamecube a failure? It wasnt the cash cow PS2 was but it made money and produces great games. With its greatest to come in Zelda 2.

for friks sake, i wish people would stop calling ps2 and xbox cash cows and greedy and similar names because they are no more greedy than nintendo. get it into your heads, EVERY VIDEOGAME COMPANY EVERY AS CARED ABOUT NOTHING BUT MAKING MONEY, INCLUDING NINTENDO. If gc had won the current generation console-wars, would you call nintendo a cash cow? i doubt it. just because sony and microsoft won and did what every company is trying to do is no reason to call them names.
Viper: Worlwide sales they`re are even but what about just western countrys? how do xbox and cube stand next to each other if you take away the japan market?

What good does taking the Japan market away do? It sold there didn't it? Yes. I think the Japanese market is equally important as the Western markets. All it does is put the XBox ahead of Nintendo, but Japanese sales are still sales, which means Nintendo is in 2nd place.

Ok Shadowrunner.
US
PS2 - well over 20 million
Xbox - 10 million
GC - 9 million
Where is the failure? Welcome to the world of media hype. So tell me how the company that failed made the most money? That's right, Nintendo profited more than Xbox and PS2 combined. Failure? Not even close.

Cash cows!
Wasn't it sony that decided not to put 4 ports on its system making you buy a multitap. Also for the xbox, didn't u have to buy a remote control just to look at dvds. Didn't the extra feature of a shitty DVD player in the Xbox and PS2 raise the price. Didn't Ps2 break down millions of times meaning that the 70 million people, 10% ps2 malfunctioned and they had to get another one. Cash cow is the nicest way of puttin it

I went back and read the article. Allow me to post a few quotes.
"Officially, Oblivion is scheduled for PC and unspecified next-generation consoles. Bethesda is unable to formally confirm which platforms the game will be released." - From the author of the article.
"Right after Morrowind, our motto was 'go big, go early', and be ready whatever Micrsoft, Sony and Nintendo do next." - Todd Howard, Executive Producer at Bethesda Software.
Aerofan, there is more to indicate that Revolution will get the game than evidence that it will not. The only thing close to Nintendo hating was from GameInformer, not Bethesda.

But there is no reason to believe it is coming either.

If you aren't making games for Nintendo, why get your team ready for them?

Again, as Viper has said many a time, why bother mentioning Nintendo and getting ready for what they have next if you have no intentions of developing for them? Its like telling your friends your going to go pick up a pizza when your going to go through the drive-thru at McDonalds

There is nothing indicating anything, just because he mentioned Nintendo it doesn't mean that it is going to be on the next Nintendo console. The game is still a year away if not more because I bet you it will get delayed. So don't bother getting your hopes up just yet.
PS: Fix the thread title Viper, it is "The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion".

Shane, you are right, it doesn't say it will but it doesn't say Next X either but they repeatedly claimed it for that system. Even said PS3. Then they said don't expect it on Revolution but gave absolutely no reason why. On the flip side, the flip side, the Executive Producer has his staff gearing up for Nintendo. Now why would he do that?
Why would a software company prepare for a new console with no intent of supporting it?
Why does GI say no NRev when the Exec says they are preparing for it?
If you were writing that article and the Executive producer was not allowed to say with console the game was coming for but he did tell you his team is preparing for all three, would you speculate what systems would get the game?
ch33f
10-13-2004, 01:04 PM
I wouldn't get to far into speculating what system it will come out on because there is no solid evidence supporting any platform apart from the PC. If I was going to make a prediction though I would base it on past instances where games much like Morrowind have over-looked Nintendo and in some cases Sony.
