First Half-Life 2 Information!

Half-Life 2 is most definetely my most anticipated PC game of the year. The original game defined what a First Person Shooter should be like in years to come. Ya, I am going to have to upgrade my current video card, but my prosessor is quite fine; Pentium 4 1.8Ghr. Also, I have an abundant amount of RAM, ranking in at 512mb, which is not bad. I just cannot wait for this game! I wonder what engine it is using? Originally, I though that Valve would opp to use the Quake 3 tech with heavy upgrades, but there have been rumors of Valve developing their own in-house engine, but the latter hasn't been confirmed yet. My wish list for Half-Life 2

-Scripped sequenses.

-Top-notch A.I

-Immersive story

-Multible engine capabilities.(Vehicals, Air-Craft, etc all intergrated into one world with no load times. Example - Mace Griffen: Bounty Hunter)

-Amazing graphics - Bump-Mapping, etc.

I never actually played half-life or counterstrike because i just always watched my friends...i did just get a burned copy of it recently so i guess i will play it.

From one of those screens the graphics looked better then Doom 3. The lighting, fire, and character models looked better IMO.

Where did you get "Full Life" from Link182? But ya Furry_Dice, the graphics look spectacular, even better then Doom 3, not up to par with Far Cry though. Although, these screens dont really show us the graphical power of whatever this engine is, saying that this game looks better then Doom 3 is really saying something. The original Half-Life was always better at drawing small, condenced, claustrophic areas of play, that spanned for miles underground, creating a very creepy atmosphere. The Far Cry engine is meant to draw large, outdoor enviroments, so its really not fair to compare the two. Besides, like I said, it is too early to judge Half-Life 2 based off a couple of scans from a magazen, but it still looks spectacular. Can't Wait!

Where did they come up with "Half-Life"? Do they mean the radioactive lifespan "half-life" or some other half life?

All I Can hope for is that Half-Life 2 Gets a PS2 Port like The Original. But i doubt it.

Well that was because Half Life was a few years old and could be run on PS2...i bet HL2 won't be on PS2. If anything its going to Xbox.
