Famitsu just recently released new pictures of the Japanese Nintendo DS packaging as well as the box art and cartridge. As you can see, no more cardboard boxes for the games - Nintendo is finally going with 'real' covers that will provide more safety to your games. The cartridges are also extremely small, much smaller in width compared to the GBA cartridges.

Do they really need such a huge box for such a small cartridge? Oh well, no worries here. Everything is looking swell :)

^ I'm not worried about losing any of the games; store them in their proper place, and there should be no problem!

N-Gage games are just as small or smaller. I've got N-Gage a year ago today and haven't lost any software yet. Like Dorbin said, remember where you keep them and you won't lose them. Get a little shoe box or something, or even like a jewelry box. Or just keep them in the boxes they're packaged in. Really though, don't worry about losing them; unless you're really careless it won't be a problem.

EDIT: Kliq, the most probable reason for the box being so big is the instruction manual.

I love the boxes, they look sweet. And smaller s better. Imagin how many of those things you could fit in a little carying case or something with your ds. you would only need something the size of a change purse to hold like 4-5 games.

I really like the new cases. They are like half the size of a GC one.

Don't forget that this is Japan so there's an unfortunete likelyhood that we won't get these cases and we'll get cardboard like GBA.

I think the second pic is the back end of the box that DS itself comes in. THe lighting is really bad...

And god damn, those games are so small! I was amazed at GBA games compared to regular gameboy games.

There not using DISCs because of the very breakable technology that it needs to read them. CD/DVD readers are very easy to break. That’s why the PSP will most likely fail to read there media. You drop your PSP... your F*cked.
