Dam Sony has sold like twice as much as GCN and XBOX combined.

40-50 percent of them are replacements. I never buy Sony products because they are all like that. Last TV my family bought was a big screen Sony and it broke down within 3 years.

Hmm...I don't know about %50 but i'm guessing more like %30 were replacements.

Sony purposely makes their products fail. I swear to god its true. Every single Sony product i have ever bought has failed me and even shitty no name ones worked better.
Yea man, even those crappy Sony computers break down fast.

The worst Sony products to buy are TV's, VCR's, and computers. Those are the ones that Sony likes people buying replacements of.

My PS2 doesn't play most DVDs... i'm guessing because i have to update the drivers... or some shit... that's gay.
The only other sony product i have is a walkman from like 96... old skool no anti-skip... lol. You breathe to hard and it skips...

One of Capcoms corporate officials bashed Sony for designing the PS and PS2 with intentional obsoletism. Products that intentionally breakdown and need replacing to increase sales totals and mislead developers into believing Sony has a larger user base to attract exclusive games. It's worked. Every person I know who has a Sony system has had to replace it, sometimes even twice. NintendoFire even ran the story. it was one of the deciding factors for Capcom to put RE exclusively on GC.

I'd like to add that half of the time my Sony CD-RW drive doesn't even burn the CDs correctly, so I have to start over. o_O

At least it doesn't waste your RW discs. My friend had a Sony CDR that would screw his discs up everytime he recorded.

That's why I test and record. It always says that there are errors, but after I retry it a couple of times it burns.
Bah.

That's Sony wanting more of your hard earned money.

That should be illegal for Sony to do that. Or at least make them put a sticker on their products that says "we intentionally make our products break down easily so you will end up replacing this piece of shit within a year"

This is what all companies do when they have a monopoly. Nintendo did it with NES and now with GBA, Microsoft did with Windows and IE, and Sony does it with...everything.
Gunpei

Neither my NES nor my GBA have broken down...so i dont know what you are talking about. Nor do i know anyone who had problems with theirs....except for the NES, but only after they have had it for a long time and havnt taken care of it properly.

I say 2-5 million of those PS2's were defects.

I'd double that number. Of all my friends who own a PS2 (12 people), all but two had to replace thiers. Use this as a sample population and it's more like 92% replaced, but that's not feasible but a more conservative 15-20% is meaning around 7-10 million fell victim to intentional obsoletism.
