What... there's a presidential election going on? Whatever...

I meant vote for MTV2's 100 Greatest Albums of all time (http://www.mtv2europe.com/GreatestAlbum.jhtml). I know you're probably thinking "liek mTv r teh sux0rzzz!!11," but it's actually surprising how many good albums are on the list.

All Radiohead Albums (minus Pablo Honey)
Joy Division - Closer / Unknown Pleasure
Pixies - Doolittle / Surfer Rosa
Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation
The Cure - Boys Don't Cry
The Rapture - Echos
Grandaddy - The Sophtware Slump
...among other greats.

...so yes... go vote... and include contact info cause you can win all the albums that make the list.

Why do they have Modest Mouse's worst album on there? Oh well.

I'm not saying what I voted for. :)

Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures

EDIT: It was so hard not to vote for Morrissey or The Smiths...there are actually some really great albums on there. But this one takes the cake IMO, amazing lyrics and an amazing vocalist with amazing music. Can't go wrong.

Honorable mentions go to Alice in Chains, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Soundgarden, Motorhead, Weezer, Black Sabbath and a few others.

haha MTV's top 100 is gonna be 1000x worse than any RS one. I'll check it out anyways.

EDIT: FUCKING UGH. TWO White Stripes albums but only one Pink Floyd one. Plus they put Metallica's black albums instead of Ride The Lightning or And Justice For All. And no Dream Theater - Images And Words. Voted for Dark Side Of The Moon. Best album on THAT list anyways.

I was surprised/happy/interested/whatever to see those albums on the list.
I mean, really. Linkin Park?
I have nothing against you (although I will judge your taste in music) if this is your favorite album, but I doubt it is one of the greatest albums.
'Autechre - LP5' should be on that list!

Daft Punk's 'Discovery' is way better than 'Homework', but that is just my opinion.

And I really enjoy The Streets, but I'm not sure about 'Greatest album' for either of them.
Actually, maybe the first one.
Maybe my mind will change when the second (along with the first (and the first Fantomas album too,)) arrives in the mail.

^ Yeah, there were a bunch of albums I wasn't expecting to see on there... on there. I did just notice that it's MTV2 Europe though... that might explain why the list is actually good. Brits have better taste in music IMO.

I don't know how the hell Linkin Park got on that list. That band isn't even worthy of lickin my dog's balls. The best on there is Disintegration for sure!

Linkin Park isn't that bad. They just get a bad rap for selling a zillion albums and using the same exact guitar sounds in every song.

meowmix
10-29-2004, 06:29 AM
^the ramones used the same 3 chords, and they were good

but linkiln park sucks
