I just have to say how awesome The Beatles are. George Harrison rocks. They push me to do things too. :)

While my Guitar Gently Weeps, Something, Hey Jude, Yesterday, A Day In The Life, Strawberry Fields Forever, Yellow Submarine, Come Together...

...so many!

I'm probably going to get shot for this, but in my opinion, The Beatles are the most overrated band in the history of music. I like The Beatles, but in no way do I think they are the greatest. Much of their early stuff is cheesy pop, and much of their later stuff is just a jumble of...crap (for lack of a better word) recorded while they were on drug trips, but people just passed it off as genius just beacuse they were The Beatles.

I know what they did for music. I know they influenced (directly or indirectly) 75% of the music I hear today. I know that they have some of the most-popular and best-selling albums of all time, and I know that they're the most famous band ever, but that doesn't mean I can't dislike the majority of thier work.

Overrated. That's the only word I'll use to describe them.

There are many other British bands that are far better, but they just didn't break the US, so they never got popular.

^I respectfully disagree with you all. I think The Beatles earned the reputation they have. Their music is just amazing, that's as simple as I can put it. It just moves me in a way no other artist possibly can. Nobody else even comes close. Most of their latter work is awesome, especially Paul McCartney and Wings, but when the four of them were together...damn, music just doesn't get any better than that. And Abbey Road is still the greatest album of all time. I just can't even put into words how incredible their music is.

I agree with Gollum, just something about the music. It influenced me and apparently tons of other people. They are and were popluar because there good, pretty hard to be overrated as much as they would have to be.

I don't think i could agree more, they have some good songs...but most of the rest is trash.

I think their 'Magical Mystery Tour' album is underrated.
I like The Beatles a reasonable amount.

The guitar work on While My Guitar Gently Weeps is some of the most emotional and sad music to be written. You can almost hear Clapton's guitar crying at the sad state of the world. Truly a great piece of music.

Dangerous, if you're a big fan of Harrison, then go find some Travelling Wilburys music. Can you beat a band of George Harrison, Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison, and Bob Dylan?

^^Dangerous55, Eric Clapton played lead guitar on While My Guitar Gently Weeps. Him and George were like best buds.
