View Full Version : Set Phaser To "Stun"

I just bought a Boss PS-5 Phase Shifter (a.k.a. "Phaser). This thing totally claims dominance over me. It's like a Chorus, and Tremelo and a Delay all rolled into one superior effect (With 5 seperate modes).

This is a new addition to my other compact pedals, which are the Flanger, the Metal Zone and the Wah-Pedal.

Any other guitarists use Boss compact pedals?

Awesome, man. I don't play guitar, but once I get my hands on a bass overdrive and an octaver I won't leave my house. Ever.

Yeah, the phaser is like an octave. With the "Harmonize" and "Phase Shift", you can overlay your output with an octave chorus or play with a 3rd, 5th or 7th.

Man, it's so badass.

I have a Boss DS-1 Distortion, but that's it. I'm looking at a DigiTech Metal Master right now.

PS what the hell does delay do?

The Phaser overlays a chorus (it plays what you play, only an octave higher) so it sounds like two guitars are playing at once. The delay stalls the Phaser's overlay by 53 miliseconds so it sounds like there's a slight echoey reverb. It sorta makes it sound as if you're playing in a big hall.

Although this matters dick if your amp is a piece of shit like mine.

I have a Metal zone and an acoustic simulator. I want to get the Phase Shifter though, boss pedals are so badass. I had a Digitech metal master before and it was shit, too much noise. Ill stick with Boss.

The Metal Zone is intense, isn't it? I daisy-chained the Phaser(out) to the Metal Zone(In). Perfectly clean sound. Goddamn.
