View Full Version : TyBO's Sprite Themed Sig Shop!
... is now open! :D
For those of you who don't know, a sprite is an image from a classic 8 or 16 bit game that is one object from that game. Good examples are Mario, 1-Up Mushrooms, A boss key, etc.
Using sprites, I can make you a sig/avy combo from a 8 or 16 bit game of your choice, much like the one I'm currently using!
Here are my rules:
1. I will only take ONE request at a time. All requests after the first one will be disregarded.
2. Please request sigs that have sprites from WELL KNOWN classic games, Such as Zelda: LttP, Super Mario World, etc. (I only ask this because it's hard to find sprites from non-popular games).
3. Some spriters (people who rip sprites) ask for credit if you use their sprites, therefore, you must include their name in your sig somewhere (I'll post the spriter's names ;)).
4. I set the price (don't worry, I'll be very reasonable :D ).
Guess that's it. Request away!

Do you make the image yourself? Meaning that you drew and pixelated them yourself? I'm just wondering because if you did, that's awesome.

Whoa......I've never had a sig banner. It's been like a trademark of mine...but this is tempting....

You liar! You've had one before. I still have one that Aaron made you a long time ago.
P.S. Get on AIM!

Ha, nope. I'm not that talented. Spriters "rip" the sprites from real games and put them on whats called a "sprite sheet" which is a big image that has a bunch of sprites from a particular game. Generally, spriters make sprite sheets for people who want to design their own fans games (remember OoT2d?). I thought I'd try something different though by making sigs with them. :D

Do you make Avatars? If so I want a Tales of Symphonia Sprite showing Yggrasill
Err... well yes, I do make avatars. Unfortunately for you though, I cannot make you a Tales of Syphonia avatar because Tales of Symphonia is not a classic 8 or 16 bit game. It was released a couple months ago...
Tales of Phantasia = Yes
Tales of Symphonia = No

Ok thats cool, Tales of Phantasia is close enough, I don't know to much about the game though so can you just make me someone cool and that is closely related to half elves or cruxis angels (if any?)
It doesn't matter, as long as its cool.

SKULL KID THATS TIGHT!!! Thanks man, I'll be sure to give you the credit.
I know this might sound stupid but is that an avatrar or a sig because I would like that as a sig only bigger unless theres a away to make it bigger myself.

It's an avatar. A signature is much bigger. You see the two pictures I have everytime I post? That's called a sig. That's usually how big they are.

these sigs are hard to make because photoshop distorts the pixels and so they dont look pixelated anymore. its really hard. but ur one loks good.

Hey TYBO...can you make me a sig of Zelda: Link to the Past, and instead of putting my name on it, could you just put Rebel on it...thanks man.
*brushes cobwebs off computer moniter*
What's this?!?! A request?!?!?! OH JOY!!!!!
I will be happy to make you a LttP style sprite sig Sub Zero, or should I say, Rebel. I will post the finished product in this thread sometime tomorrow. :)

This is a really good idea. Rep, Tybo.
Thanks Ix... glad you approve of my idea. :)
I have good news for you Sub Zero... I finished a little ahead of schedule.

... and I decided to throw in an avatar for good measure. :D

Since you have virtually no credits at all (n00b!), I've decided that this one is on the house. Let me know if there are any minor things you'd like me to fix up, like if the yellow is a little to vibrant for you or something...
Enjoy!

I don't know much about the old school sprite things.
What is there besides Zelda? I might want to invest in one of these.
Well... you know... Super Mario Bros. series, old Final Fantasys, Harvest Moon, Blaster Master, Super Metroid, Chrono Trigger, Super Mario RPG... just to name a few.

what program do you use? photoshop makes pixelated pictures have more pixels, is there a way to turn that off or something?

I just don't resize the sprites at all... don't fiddle with the bounding box and it will look fine. :)

also, how do you get your pictures? do you use an emulator? i did to get mine, but they take like 5 hours straight of working... you must be very persistant.
