Started today and already people have overflooded the official world of warcraft site and fileplanet.com (the 2 sites distributing the download).

World of Warcraft isn't distributing the download, are they? Cus I only found one on Fileplanet.com

You can get it from World of Warcraft once File planet has issued all of the open beta slots.

If you get it off a site other than these 2 you will not be issued a key with it and therefore will not be able to play.

You can now download the client (at about 30 kbs) which will take a day and a half. Then im guessing tomorrow sometime they will have the keys available. Also, if you have a key now, there are ways to get your account up but they are brief...some people have been getting their accounts half way then getting the error. It appears that blizzard is working hard to get the site back up and when they do i'll see a good portion of you online im sure. (be sure to join a pvp server we could do some NNow lvling or something for shits n giggles) my account will be disrupter006.

I'll wait until it's less congested. I do want to try the demo though, I've been looking forward to this for a long time, I want to see if it really is actually worth paying a monthly fee for.

HOW FUCKING GAY! I downloaded with FireFox from Fileplanet last night, it was done this morning yet it said it couldnt be saved. So now im using the gay ass blizzard downloader averaging at 20 kbs. :(

I got in and played today, and i would have to say that this is by far blizzards greatest achievement. The vastness of this game is INCREDIBLE, though i am only lvl 4 it does show a full map of the game, and their are several continents.

I'm a level two nightelf, I suck pretty bad. First MMORPG I've played.

What server are you on? I too am a nightelf (level 6) on pvp servers. If anyone on here wants to start new chars or something ill do it (on a reg server since they seem to have more people).
