Mixed Halo 2 Feelings.

I am a bit upset over quite a ew of the changes, like the highly underpowered plasma pistol and needler, no night vision on the sniper scope, slow moving tanks and other once swift crafts, and the ending level where master chief is going to earth. Please tell me there is another level ther eon legendary or somthing. It ended on a bad note if not otherwise. The once wonderful timed and tuned music of a level is missing. MY PISTOL CANNOT ZOOM! The aliens are not funny anymore, especialy the once funny grunts. Levels are a bit confusing with all the detailed place in the game. The screen is more crowded and harder to see than was on the first game in multiplayer.

It has some good points, but anyone else feel a bit of a let down when there really was not a final ending level like there was on the first one? I have also heard reports of terrible game selection system on xbox live. I just think they removed the weapon combat simplicily from halo one. I give it a 9, not a 10.

Hopfully the PC version will be more fun again.

I love it. I think it's a lot better. I liked the console version of Halo 1 about 20x better than the PC version anyways.

I tried to play a few rounds on XBL last night...but there was a problem...my dorm room was getting 28K to 32K ....needless to say i didn't play very long.

Although for stat ranking it took awhile for me to get into a game.

i completely afree with u nuke. the human weapons got all screwd up in this game and wheres cool music that use to come whenever battle was coming. my biggest flaw was that i tried to run my friend down with the warthog and he didnt die. i even hit him in the back of the head and he still didn't go down. i haven't got to far in the game yet cause me and bro are trying beat it co-op and wasn't till a few minutes ago that i figured out how to switch the vertical split screen, horizontal.

The pistol was wayyyyyy too powerful in Halo 1. Don't get me wrong, I loved it, but they need to trim it down to make it more fair, especially in online play. I remember unloading a SMG on my cousin and a few pistol shots took me down. Some vehicles are slower, some are faster, it's to create better balance.

I am so happy they toned down that friggin' pistol. Playing XboxConnect in Halo 1....you can't walk 3 steps without being pistol-sniped. Maybe people will finally learn to use OTHER weapons now that the uber-pistol is gone.

My only real complaint with Halo 2 (other than the rampant pop-up in the cinematics, what's up with that?) is the ending. Pure crap. Seriously.

Halo 3 better come out in a few months! Otherwise, it'll be like The Matrix Reloaded without The Matrix Revolutions. There's such a thing as a subtle cliffhanger. Maybe MC could get everyone on that vessel and then when you think it's done Cortana could see a massive fleet of ships from an alien race that isn't the Covenant. Whatever, it'd be better than that stupid cliffhanger anyway.

I personally like what they did to halo. The scope on the pistol neede to be taken away because it was to powerfull whith it, now multiplayer is more balanced. I agree the screen does seem more crowded but in my opinion its not that big of a concern for me. I don't understand what you guys are talking about with the music, whenever I came upon a battle in single player the music almost always changed to a more fast paced song to accomadate the action. Also Nuke I don't see how you think the needler is underpowered, its a lot more powerfull then in the first one and all the slower covenent vehicles have a boost which makes them faster, you can't fire but it would be hard to hit anything useing the boost anyways. I guess this is all just my opinion though.

Online could have been better though. The actual multiplayer games are fun but the way you join games could have been a lot better and I don't like the way it is now.

All in all I am very pleased with halo 2 and I like it a lot more then the first one.

Halo 2, while an outstanding game as far as action and entertainment goes, is hampered a bit by the weak story and the way the game progresses.

Similar in regards to MGS2, but MGS2 at least had a legitimate excuse and it did bring the story full circle in the most satisfying way. Halo 2 doesn't seem to have any reason for this and the narrative doesn't support it much.

But still, Halo 2 is great fun, top to bottom. This is nowhere near the level of quality that San Andreas has ascended to, but it should be among the best action titles of 2004.

Overall i think the game is awesome. sure the ending sucks, but i thought the story was pretty good actually. The new features such as hijacking, dual-wielding, and covenant vehicle boost are really great. One of the biggest problems is probably the texture glitches. They pretty much happen in every cutscene, and more than once. But i still think halo 2 is one of the best games ever.

The thing that captures me most about games is story. And this game has an awesome story. That's why MGS had me hooked... I loved the parallel storylines.

The ending obviously shows that there will be a sequel. And hopefully Bungie won't keep your nerdy hearts empty for too long.

Bungie already said Halo 3 won't be their next game. I would be surprised if they aren't working on it right now, but they'll certainly save it for Xbox Next. I also have been hearing they might make a new Shadowrun RPG, or that Project Phoenix is "rising from the dead".

the only thing i agree with is the ending and the screen being too full, namely during the melee. the needler kicks too much ass now. and the grunts and shit are funny as hell and the mexican guy you get on some of the alien levles

Nuke, the plasma pistol isn't underpowered. It's sole purpose is to take down shields. I can't tell you how much an SMG/plasma pistol combo rocks. Sure, if you plan on just having a plasma pistol and shooting stuff with it, you're not going to get very far.

I think the needler is still underpowered, but it's more powerful than in Halo.

The needler is not underpowered at all in my opinion. It was in the original, but even then I liked using it against Elites. Now its good overall as an offensive weapon.

The ending was really lame bottom line. I take it as them trying to extend the Halo series as long as possible. But when you factor in the gameplay and multiplayer/xbox live its still a pretty great game.
