The Canadian House Of Commons...Where the party who is currently the government, the official opposition and...that other party discuss and vote on proposed legislation and hold orderly debates.
I'm just kidding. We're fucking animals in Caucus.
Seriously...The people who run our country are barbarians! They're brutal!
If you say something stupid in Caucus, you get heckled and laughed at, and this applies to everyone. You'll get "SHAME" chants in some cases. Sometimes I can't believe that the guys who run our country are the same people who joke and laugh and heckle and chant in the most respected room in the country.
Yes, our party members are just rowdy...But damn! Do they have balls. Good speeches and excellent points made are usually cheered and applauded, although technically there should be silence. Caucus is usually something to watch...And it's entertaining.
I guess, in a way, this behaviour is not exactly inappropriate, but I'd have it no other way. Those who have something to say will come up and say it, no matter what the outcome may be. Our politicians are awesome and disturbingly human and immature.
But they also run a damned fine country if I may say so myself.
Now, any lip service that our politicians may pay to Bush is completely for our own benefit. If we didn't do most of our business with America, we'd probably have nothing to do with you guys. We're that left, you're that right. Bush doesn't get a lot of respect from us as a general public, and our politicians are the same way. You might even say we're different countries.
We're nice and polite to the whitehouse, and we really want good diplomacy, but I don't think Bush's actions are highly applauded here. Just a speculation. Bush is comming to speak at Caucus, and man, do I want to see this.
It is now more important than ever to have good relations with America due to the minor issues of softwood and mad cow. We want the border opened, we need a favour. But I'll bet that there's going to be some people who'll heckle Bush, and it won't be pretty.
Don't think we'd heckle the President of the United States? We've done it before, to Reagan. I don't think he came back after that.
But that's just the way Caucus is. Disorderly and probably a lot of fun. Somebody better tell Bush what to expect.
