How many of you use a stragegy guide to help assist you in a video game?


I only use a stragegy guide whenever i'm stuck on a part for a week or so.

I beat the game by myself, but if there are a lot of extras that i cant get i will buy the guide or use gamefaqs.

I use GameFaqs when I'm stuck over a long period of time and when I begin to hate that part of the game..

I'll beat a game, get as many secrets as I can and then look on gamefaqs for anything I missed and make sure I've finished a game the best I can before I pick up a new game. I've been doing that for as long as I can remember.

I only use a playguide when I'm stuck on one part which I haven't been able figure out by myself for a while. then I only use the guide until I'm not so stuck anymore.

I got some free ones from GameStop, so if I have 'em I sometimes use 'em.

I used to but now I only do when I've been stuck on something for a very long time. I don't like to know what happens next so I avoid it.

When im stuck and the puzzel im in is really annoying, then ill use Gamefaqs.com for my needs..or Use a guide.

Don't need'em so I don't use'em. It takes away from the experience if you use a guide.

Only when I get really, really stuck will I head to EB and get the guide. Only problem is, if I had known to get it with the game, I can get a good discount. :(

I don't understand why people buy guides... If your're going to degrade yourself by using them (I do sometimes), might as well get them for free online. GameFaqs guides have every bit of depth and information that store bought ones do.

Resident Evil games i'll play through without any guides but then i'll use it later to unlock the secrets and stuff

for RPG's i'll use it to help with mini games or side quests and stuff...but i won't use any guides that reveal the story line

I beat Final Fantasy 7 withought no strategy guide or nothing, but for 8 and 9 I did, I think they kinda ruined the experience for me, but its so hard to not look at them when there right there. I remeber buying one for ff8 and I was like at the beging of the game, I was like I wonder if I am missing somthing here, I'll just take a peak at this one part, then I start going through the whole book. Thats what makes games good, you don't know whats gonna happen.
