I saw it in the store the other day, and was intrigued. But it looked like a MMORPG, so I put it back.

Nice game, I played the beta version, it's just that I don't have enough time to put into a MMORPG. They take up too much dedication and right now I have sports and school to worry about.

I like PC games, but I never buy them, b/c my computer really sucks, and I'm not at my dad's enough to justify a $50 purchase for a computer game.

Oh yeah, I'm cheap
Out of all my games for GC and PS2 (25 games), I've only paid $50 for 4 of them.

It is not like everquest, where if u quit for a while, you feel like you are underpowered. And you level alot faster than in everquest. overall its obviously a mmorpg, but not one that you would dedicate your life to like if you were playing everquest with the cult on there.

I love the series, but I just can't justify paying a monthly fee for a game.

Do you guys even realize why blizzard charges monthly for this game but none of their others?

All MMORPGs charge you money. I dont know why, but thats just the way they do it.

This is a little weird, but I almost considered buying the collectors' edition just to have the book of concept art. I love the "artsyness" of the Warcraft universe. I love looking at their manuals and art. I probably spent hours (plural) just looking through the manual for the original Warcraft and reading the "history". Drool.

But, I've sworn off MMORPGs for a while (er, until The Matrix Online comes out...) because they reinforce a belief that existence is pointless. :-P

"I just spent 12 hours in front of my computer gathering 5 million units of money that don't exist in order to buy a house that doesn't exist so that I could store my lewt that doesn't really exist and be a badass in a world that... doesn't exist. Aw man, I have to make my house payment and mow the lawn."

I have a lot of fun while I'm playing an MMORPG, but it's the "reality hangover" that kills me.

I've never played an MMORPG. I just don't have the money or dedication to put up for it. I'm sure it's an awesome game though. Blizzard is one of my favorite game companies.

i would get it if I had the money. I heard only great things from it.... except that it costs $15 a month to play.

$15/month is somewhat hard. To me thats buying 3 $50 GCN games and one $30 GBA/DS game. If it was $10/month that is acceptable. The thing is with MMORPGs its best to stick with that game for the whole year with nothing else. Buying another game makes that monthly fee almost a waste. So really all in all the first year is paying $230. You really have to ask yourself how much you pay a year on games. If you cut back a little bit on some things $15/month is a drop in the bucket. I'll cut the amount of food I pay for in half.

Theres Guild Wars which is free and made by former Blizzard developers. Other than that there aren't really any alternatives that make me totally prefer them over an MMORPG. I'm excited in this game. I always wanted to roleplay as a full good-aligned orc.

I got the CE edition.

I play on Gorefiend: level 25 Troll Shaman
We did a 25 man raid on Ashenvale a few nights ago, 25 of us running down a trail, we spotted a night elf running at us, the second he saw us he turned around and ran the other way, I was laughing so hard.

Kevin, don't get this game because it will consume you.

I want the game after talking to you on AIM. Actually I've always wanted it, but:

-I have a shitty PC.
-I'm broke.
-I'm gay.

I'd get it if I could afford that $15/month...:(

Depending on how next semester is, class-wise, I might look into getting it. I know a bunch of people playing right now, so I'm kind of excited about gettting into it. The problem with FFXI was that I didn't know any real life friends in it, and I'm not down with having to make e-friends with a bunch of people I don't like just to get anywhere.

I really didn't need to know your sexual preference.

Mark from XL and I play, I gave him my 10 day trial, or else I would have hooked you up.

Aside from a few levels, I went from 1-25 by myself rather easily. And it didn't take that long.

And if you need to its easy to find a group to do a few quests or an instance, then you can just peace out and do your own thing.

But this is one of those games where its already a 5/5 without friends, but each friend you add = double the fun.

This just in, World of Warcraft has been cut from my Christmas list due to its gayness in monthly fees.

You guys piss me off. I would totally get this game except for one reason.

No it's not the 15 dollars a month, I'm rich.
No it's not that I have a shitty computer, I'm rich and have a kickass computer.
No It's not that I won't have enough time due to college, I'm a slacker that goes to community college.

It's because I live in fucking Buttfuck, Washington where broadband is not available. It pisses me off greatly. I swear, the day I move out of my house (which will be soon) is the day broadband makes its way to my house. Oh well, that's how life goes. I was talking to this WAVE Broadband guy and he said in the next few months it was actually coming to my road. Too bad I will probably be gone by then.

Pending on your computer and internet, the install and patch dl will last all day most likely if your computer is older than 2 years and your on shitty(sub par compared to regular) dsl or cable or shitty dialup.
