Well heres a thread to discuss the Spike Tv video game awards, most likely they will suck as badly as they did last year.
Ha I'm watching their sneak peak of games coming out at 2005, and the fuckheads showed a priview of Windwaker, instead of the new Zelda game coming out for gamecube, It said "the legend of zelda on the bottom, yet showed video clips from Wind waker, and they said the title hasn't been released yet, and for nintendo fans 2005 cant come fast enough.
Did the people who make the show even research anything at all before hand?

Anyways...the code thing was fucking lame...so was the "Only PSP in the US" Spike TV probably thinks they have the only one too..

Yeah, most people their aren't even gamers, they spend more time with rap songs and celebrities than actualy game stuff.

I love how all the best driving game nominees were published by the same company.

I saw 10 minutes of it. So fucking retarded, the people they invited. They were like, "I never played a video game, hopfully I can in 05." And the music sucks ass.

I'm thankful they don't have a lifetime achievement award. It would make me sick to see the creators of Halo up there instead of Shiggy, which as absurd as it sounds would most likely happen.

When I think of the people there I think of something like this. A person shows some 3d character looking like some game character kill a mutant rabbit and then some bitch screams, "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" in a serious cry for joy. I laugh so hard at that because they're dumb.
I didn't watch it. The Legend of Earthsea and playing an RE4 demo was better worth my time.

Worst 2 hours of my life. The best part was the commercials.

Yeah well I personally think they'd deserve it just as much. I've had as much fun with Halo / 2 as I did with SMB 3 back in the NES days. I think the Valve team is right up there too. What's wrong with that?

I'm sorry they're not as cool as you. :(
I didn't watch it, because I really don't care.

Didn't miss much. Basically this show was basically "EA getting a huge blowjob" to quote someone from another forum.

What's wrong with that?
First of all, Halo didn't revolutionize the gaming industry to the extent that Shiggy's properties did...frankly, it was most influential in keeping the Xbox on life support during 2001. I suppose that's technically my opinion, but I see it as fact. Second of all, I've yet to see somebody get a "lifetime" acheivement award for completing only two major projects, both of which are cherished less than any of Nintendo's early franchises.
Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong 2, Donkey Kong 3, Super Mario Bros, Super Mario 2, Super Mario 3, Super Mario World, Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, The Legend of Zelda, Zelda 2, A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, and any others I missed have been more influential than Halo and Halo 2....I can't see how you could rationally disagree with that.
However, this does not change the fact that Bungi is an incredibly talented group of developers. I have played Halo and Halo 2, and can say with all honesty that they are great games...it'll definetely be interesting to see what they do next.

CTrog I'm fine with Halo getting some award like that. Seriously, would you rather see Goldeneye: Rogue Agent getting that award instead? You might as well go for the best game out of the selection. So far most of them I agree with. Nothing serious such Bad Boys Miami getting anything.
Cyber Vixen of the Year: BloodRayne
So far this was a waste of award time. They hyped up that game so much and when the game came out its only rent or forget worthy. So shes hot in some people's eyes but again such a waste of time. They could have introduced something new.
Best New Technology: Nintendo DS
If they had more time to prepare they probably would have gave that to the PSP. It doesn't have to be released in the US yet. Import it, get a few duds to play it along with a DS and you'll know the result. They couldn't avoid Nintendo on this one.
Best Handheld Game: Metroid: Zero Mission
I'm surprised at this one. I bet most of the people there only yelled cause it won or they don't even care because they're in a place thats "cool".
Best Song in a Video Game: Green Day - American Idiot (Madden 2005)
Nothing wrong with this but I really think there should be two awards. One for gaming music made just for games and one for gaming music that developers know is popular and just stuck it in the game.

Yeah, I would have no problem with Halo getting a GOTY award from that show. In my last post howeer, I was questioning Adam's opinion that Bungi is qualified to receive a "Lifetime Achievement Award."
