Ping Pals sounds just very pointless. The system already has Picto Chat, all this offers is some bells and whisles.

Sprung, sad game for sad people.

In this month's EGM, Ping pals tied bedrock bowling for the lowest scoring game of all time.

It would only work if the DS had access to the internet (I know it does, but you know what I mean) and you could go into chat rooms and stuff. That'd be interesting.
Sprung... I guess it'd be cool if you never had a girlfriend.

Yeah, going online would probably gain it another point or two but not much since the system has a free chat built in.
Word is that Nintendo can upgrade Pictochat once the online system is up making Ping Pals even worse.

Well, this isn't going to strike down the DS in my mind. Super Mario 64 still kicks ass.

They make these sound like game quickies for quick money.
Personally I don't think the idea of Ping Pals is so bad. Of course I haven't had to actually PLAY it yet, but I agree that a "real" online component would make it much better.
Really, the only way to get better than a "regular" chat is to have a "gimmicky" chat. Voila.
...Of course, I guess there's something to be said for good execution.
I heard originally that Ping Pals would retail for under $20. Pretty reasonable for what it is, I think. But it seems like I saw it listed at the DS-standard $30 or $35 somewhere, so that's kind of unfortunate. (Although it will probably end up under 20 reeeeal soon, the way it looks right now)
As far as Sprung goes... hey, if that's what you're into. Go for it.
My only comment is that maybe now people will stop calling Feel the Magic a "dating sim" once they've seen the real thing. :nervous:

Who the hell would pay for a dating sim? Either you play a flash one, or, more logically, you realize you have a penis and go outside and get a girlfriend.

well, fell the magic can't be called a dating sim since its actually like wario ware ( whole bunch of mini games) with a real story line.

Ping Pals could have been great especiall if it was online but if you have to be that close instead of online I'd rather play some tabletop games with my friends.

Who didn't see that coming? The only reason these games are even on the radar is because there are so few games.
