Matt responds: Yep. Just got off the phone with Chris over at PSM. The PlayStation 2 version of RE4 will allegedly feature new costumes, weapons and cut-scenes. PSM ran with this news after someone from Capcom posted the information on a message board.

I pray to God that this is not true. If it is then DAMMIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That would suck so much. This happens so much and it's so annoying. I'm not sure if it's true though. Better not be.

That kinda pisses me off. I'd much rather have it on GCN than PS2...but if it's better on PS2 that's the system I'll get it on.

Moved to General Gaming.



New costumes, weapons and cut-scenes may be nice and all but with the PS2 pushing at probably half the frame rate, some detail loss and a far inferior lighting system....I wouldn't exactly call it superior.

What you loose in graphics and time release you make up for in gimmicky items.

Honestly I would prefer added levels.

Right. That's not much better. I want to play this game too much to wait until fall just to play one with the crappy PS2 controller for a few more cut scenes.

I don't notice the graphic difference from Gamecube to Ps2. It might be my eyes.

but RE 4 was made to use the potential of the cube, not the PS2. There will significantly be a huge difference.

Doesn't matter to me, To me its like they are gettin more weapons, to make the game easier cuz they suck

I hadn't heard anything about added levels, I wonder if they actually build new levels for the PS2 version...

Well with the release date for Ps2 way nxt year, then people might just get a Gamecube just to play this game.

Sweet mode in VJ was designed for this reason as well.
