View Full Version : Don't Buy Sony

PS2 will break after 5 or 1 year, I think Sony use this advantage to get more money so they used cheap hardware and make PS2 used those dread "Read disc error"
Xbox and Nintendo never had those problem, they both strong system because mircosoft and nintendo care about us, sony only care about money and greed.
I will never see or play PS2 or PSP, they both crap.
Don't buy it, even you sent it to sony to fix it or replace a new one, it will still break later, hell..N64 and super nintendo both still work and they last 15 years! Sony only last 1 years or 5 month.
There are some discussions of this somewhere in nintendonow news speical feature about this terriable machine. My Ps2 just died last night, I just brought it last year. Only 1 year?!
I regret myself for selling gamecube for PS2.....I just wish Nintendo grow up a little so they can add online and hot babe and more horror games...

You know I have had to return a Xbox because the hardrive was bad....
I also had a Nintendo DS and they Touch Screan stopped working after a couple days. Then I had another one with dead pixels.
The moral of the story:
Don't buy anything you might get a defective one... OHHH...NOOO!

I wonder why super nintendo and 8 bit nintendo still working while NEW ADVANCED system doesn't? was it a little fan which super nintendo and 8-bit don't have? there must be a way to make system last longer.

Actually the guy's right in a sense. Sony products, and I'm talking about all things Sony, just don't seem like they were built to last. Now while I haven't had a problem with my PS2 my walkman, which I bought last July, is getting near shot, and it started having problems in May. Same thing happened to my last walkman. My friend's PS2 also broke down after a year or so of use, sent it away to get "fixed" and ended up having to buy a new one. Sony products just have a track record of not being all that durable.

Yep, my sister bought a Sony MD and the earphones stopped working after the warrenty ran out.. we went to buy more at BestBuy and guess what? The clerk offered us insurance because he had the same problem with Sony headphones (he had 2 pairs both quit before a year was up so he decided not to buy anymore sony). She just ended up buying some other brand that actually is doing well ;D
Moral of the story: Nights must misuse his electronics because it's just odd how his 'things' break.

My N64 stopped powering on (I stopped playing it before I realized that happened) and my Dreamcast stopped reading discs (to much play time I guess). I played that Dreamcast like there was no tomorrow. Out of the 20+ games systems I own, only 2 not working isn't a very big number.

This is the way I see it.
Defected from launch- Either fluke in the system or just happends to have something wrong with it.
Breaks down over time- Depending on the number of years it takes, could either be to good craftmanship or bad craftmanship. Everything will stop working eventualy.
Seems like a lot more playstations and such break down over time then gameboys and Nintendo systems.

Not to change the subject but my Saturn got hit by lightning and still works, the tv it was hooked up too died.Granted it lost stereo from the strike but heck it still works. I killed 3 Dcs in the life time of the system due to over use, in the same reguard ive had freinds have PS2 dies in 1/2 the use my gcs have had- im currently on my 2nd due to some uber weird way to overheat the main board. Its strange that so many users do have systems of this Gen dieing so easy, moving parts are a major issue, but then again Sony does make total crap half the time.Oh well not my issue with a ps2 i never owned one.

If you want more 3rd party crap and sports games then go to PS2 or Xbox. If you want more high quality games via 1st party games/2nd party/and nintendo titles then go to the Gamecube.
I've had my Cube since launch, and I haven't had a need for any other game or game system because I invest so much into 1st party games. MP, ED, MP 2, Baten. Very few 3rd party games i've gotten

Um, does it really matter he's been working there for ten years? Also I can bet you most of those PS2s are from release date, which was released quite a while before the gamecube. :)
Also, the gamecube isn't really that strong in graphics capability compared to the other two systems, so you can't really say that it has good hardware. :) However, Nintendo is reliable, and they ONLY make game systems so they can focus on them a lot more. However, of course Nintendo should fix dead pixels on the DS, it's under their warranty. They are obligated to do that if they offer a warranty.

Ok normally I agree with you but you fanboyism has gone too far. While GTA isn't the prettiest game on the market the amount of work they put into the graphics alone to make the game run at a decent framerate is astounding. Character models AND car models have 2x as many polygons as GTA3, thousands of building and ground textures, not to mention the process of actually building these monster buildings and all of the vehicles.
See a game like MP2, which you seem to have used as your example, which not only has a smaller world that GTA but you're in corridors or outside a brief moments but there isn't that big an area to load and run, so graphics can be amazing and still run very well. Meanwhile GTA is loading large blocks of the city or desert or whatever but needs as good as graphics as they can run in order to run the game at a solid 60 FPS while still having the best possible graphics.
So in as simple terms as I can get, saying they put no time into the graphics is the stupidest possible thing to say regarding this matter.

Just because someone doesn't have many posts on one forum doesn't mean they're all of a sudden wrong. More posts don't mean you're in charge. On most forums, the admin has fewer posts than many of the members. Does that make those members in charge of the admins? No. Posts don't matter.

Both MP1/2 and GTA SA both process graphics in game while your playing the game, but its how the developer uses the hardware, but maybe I used the wrong example. Lets do this, SA and Spiderman 2. Look at how the developers mapped out the entire NY area. Beautiful graphics to boot. They knew how to work the hardware. But to me, SA just looks so bland. So wat if they put more polygons into the cars. Good developers can do that with even less polygons at their disposal. Also, making a game work at 60fps, well i won't even go there.

When you say 'graphics dont matter', are you being serious? coz would you play a game with awesome gameplay but graphics like games from the NES era? I wouldn't. Yes, gameplay is important, but you do need graphics as well to make it a good game.
Until you have played Earthbound, you have no room to talk.

I agree on the comments thing. It doesn't matter how many you have for your opinion to matter but people still take others with more comments more seriously than those that hardly post or just started posting. Graphics are not the most important part to a game but they are an important part none the less. I agree with Sony making horrible hardware. I have a friend who is a huge Sony fanatic, his dad used to work for them, and he even agrees that Sony hardware sucks and to not buy anything made by them. I've had my GCN for years now and the only problem I've had is the open button needs to be pressed harder to be opened because of constant use. Just to verify the obvious since everyone seems to have forgotten, everyone's opinion is valid and matters. What they say you may not agree with but it does give you another way to look at things. In short, every console has it's good and bad things, everything dies after a certain number of years, we just hope that it's many years before that happens, and finally great games are based around many factors to being great, including graphics, and game play.

I wonder if we'll ever get a sequel to Earthbound (rather than just a GBA remake). Jeff owned his opponents once he got his hands on the Heavy Bazooka (group of enemies) and Multi-Bottle Rockets. Me, when I had to battle Nightmare Ness, I carried a Snake Bag so I could poison him.
What is it with graphics anyway? Why the need to have anti-aliased breasts on the prostitutes you'll kill anyway? What ever happened to the good days of text gaming, when you had a textual description ("and then, the prostitute slowly embraces you. Glad you payed extra, she engages in....") and had to imagine things going on? What happened to the days of Ultima I and Rogue, where everything was represented on a map of ASCII characters?
I'm ranting again.
