I just have to say that I just beat it and it is like...err..so fucking great. I think it's better than Halo 2 and Metroid Prime combinded....man I love this game. I hope they make a Half-Life 3...because the ending seems to leave great possibilities...
But one thing makes me sad...mutliplayer...it sort of sucks...It had CS:Source included but I hate that game...and the Death Match was pretty..err..boring..whatever happened to like that thing called "Team Fortress" that was so cool...I loved being a medic.
Other than that....WOOT PWN 1337 ETC.

Ravenholm > Resident Evil
I've NEVER been so creeped out by a video game like that before.
Half Life dosent seem to make much sense to me, who exactly are the combime?

They never really say, but through a lot of analysis of things you get this
The combine are a race that takes over individual worlds, enslaving the races from each world to do their bidding. Thats why the alien guys who are nice to you in HL2 are trying to kill you in HL1. They're doing the combine's job at taking over earth. You see them in those factories at the end of HL1 and when you killed that baby, the alien guys were freed and could help in the resistance. There is one example of those alien guys still being enslaved when you see one moping the floor at the beginning of HL2. The metro cops are enslaved humans, and the combine soldiers, the theory says, are a combination of all the races they conquered best attributes. The admin allowed the combine/alien guys into earth with the promise of taking over earth for the betterment of humanity and giving him a leadership position
I got this analysis from some website, but I can't remember which one.

The first time I met one of those skeleton things I was holding the gravity gun. Let's just say by the time I was loading the autosave back up I was also in the midst of changing my pants.

I've never played it, but I loved what I played of the first. I never got to beat it because the game crashed at the same spot every time, but it was actually scary. My heart was always beating because you never knew what to expect around the next corner.

Got my graphics card in the mail today along with my free Half-Life 2 postcard thingy. I was going to have them ship me the retail version.... until I saw that you needed the original reciept along with some other crap and the damn thing costs another $10 to ship - which takes 4 - 8 weeks. THAT'S how they're getting so many people to load this sonabitch over Steam. Guess I'm going to have to wait for my new PC to be built so I can order it (or should I say, stream it).

I bought the Collector's Edition set of HL2 at launch (I reserved it)...and I just got my DVD-R/RW drive, and I started playing Half Life 2 for the first time.....I am amazed by how GOOD the game is after so much hype.
This game completely changed my mind about FPS in general....I used to love Turok, and other big names, but now this just takes the cake. Half Life 2 is now one of my favorite games of all time.

Just beat it after nearly 3 weeks of playing and I must say that it was quite an experience. That doesn't happen to me often either. My only gripe was that the last few chapters were a little...lackluster and the ending was iffy but I've crafted my own fair share of anticlimatic endings. Can't wait for a HL3.

I'm still stuck trying to get to the church in Ravenholm. I killed all the zombies in that staging area except for the slow ones that respawn.

I was afraid that my graphics card wouldn't handle the game. I had a Nvidia GeForce FX 6200, which is the lowest that they made of the series, or next to lowest. This game is so well rounded, my graphics card still handled it perfect. I could not put this game down, or stop until I was finished. Fortunately, It was such a big, detailed game, that I couldn't beat it in one day. I will remember this game as one of the best that I have ever played. The online registration with steam is really bogus, though... I could have done without that.
My favorite part about Ravenholm is the Warewolves. I loved blasting thier heads off with the shotgun in the air before they even got to me. Oh man this game was good.
