I didn't see anyone else post this so I thought I would.

Reggie White, a fearsome defensive end for the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers who was one of the great players in NFL history, died Sunday. White turned 43 on Dec. 19. (http://espn.go.com/classic/obit/s/2004/1226/1953400.html)

Rest in peace Reggie.

I think it sucks that Bruce Smith broke his record. Smith had to play in a reserved role until he got enough sacks to break the record. It's really cheap when a player prolongs their career just to break a record. Especially when the guy that set the record just played until it was the right time to retire. That took a little away from White's legacy and he was a far better player than Bruce Smith.

I don't think it was drug related. It was some kind of lung condition that caused problems in his sleep.

(Sorry for the late post on this one...)

I hated to hear about this. I heard it on ESPN Radio that Sunday morning on my way back on the last leg of my trip on the way home.

He was a great athlete and just as great off the field.

I did have the honor to watch him play at one game I went to see with his one season at Carolina.
