View Full Version : DS ISH FO KIDDIES111!!! (A PSP Fanboy rant)

Any person know that there is a heated debate between DS and PSP fans. There are some that would just get them both, but there aren't many (If there were, then I wouldn't have wasted so many hours laughing at the monkey gamers throw poo at each other). There have been many arguements stated between the two, Graphics, Games, Size, Battery life, etc. But, in my opinion, the most offensive, dumbest, and most irrelevant arguement I have ever heard is the "DS is for kiddies!" Arguement. I mean, PSP fans yell this out constantly, I can say that 90% of the DS vs. PSP debates have always included this statement. And what makes it worse, is that they never really explain it! I mean, the topic about this I read, PSP fans went on and on how the PSP would make on look "cool" or "popular". When a person went out with a PSP and started playing it in Public, the only people who cared were a set of 12-year olds with big pockets (From what I heard, a DS actually got a cutie to notice the guy who was playing it...but that's off subject).
If I want to make anything clear is this:

GAMING WILL NOT MAKE YOU LOOK COOL!!!

GAMING, by american virtue, IS GENRALLY "FOR KIDS"

You AREN'T gonna get the honnies to like you by whipping out a PSP, nor are you gonna get on the cover of Vouge. If there is any reason to get a DS OR a PSP, it's because the machines intrest you! I'm just sick of all of these people coming inot the gaming hobby and bringing thier, small dick complex with them, if gaming threatens thier masculinity, then they should STOP gaming, Period!

people saying that the nintendo or Ds are made for kids merely are to ignorant to take into account the reasons they are superior so they stick with the general argument.. blindly..

If you are going to get a handheld, it's not based on what you think people will think of you for getting it, it's because you like it. It's simple enough, but people just don't get it...

You're absolutely right. I've been saying for a long time that no gaming will make you cool. But there's no talking to casual gamers.

Example (Actual conversation):

Casual Gamer: The Gamecube sucks.
Me: *Explains how it's just having lack of 3rd party support and a dwindling fanbase due to attitudes such as your own*
Casual Gamer: No, Gamecube sucks.

I agree...that being said, I actually got 2 over 40 white women to love the ds. They want some card games, and puzzle games to come out on it..which it will. Hell, even my mom wants the damn thing...if only it could connect to the tv...Very, very interesting.

Casual Gamer: No, Gamecube sucks.

The Best arguement from a person like that is that "Gamecube doesn't have a DVD player!"

And it seems that this attitude is seeping into the hardcore base...Things like this make me wanna go back to Ti-Calculator gaming, were all that mattered was the games.

I know tha DS isn't a kiddy toy, I'm just ticked off at people who say it is. Unless that statement wasn't targeted at me, if that's the case, then I'll shut-up now.

I got a question, if 25 little kids get the PSP just to play GTA, does that make it kiddy due to the fact that little kids are buyin it?

Everyone plays videogames. Well, at least most of the guys in this world do. I already know of about 170/300 guys in my senior class have already said that they do in fact plan to buy a PSP or a DS. I did a poll for the school newspaper that showed that result.

So, even though owning a handheld system doesn't exactly make you "cool," a lot of people are oing to have them. Some people might hide the fact that they actually own them, but, a lot of people are going to own at least one of them.

In my school, PSP is going to be the handheld of choice.
