View Full Version : Old Franchises are the key to sucess for Nintendo
Throughout Nintendo's gaming history it has made many classic franchises that seem to be forgotten now. I think if done right sequels to games like Kid Icarus, Custom Robo, Earthbound, Card Hero and Mach Rider would do wonders for the GameCube. Now i know new franchises are always needed but there are a lot of potential hits in Nintendo's library of games. YOUR COMMENTS..

I agree. We should wait till E3 until we start complaining about them not bringing back old franchises though. Nintendo has plenty of surprises up its sleeves.

im tired of playing remakes and sequels of old games Nintendo should come up with some new shit. dont get me wrong i love the old classics but whenever there is a remake its usually the same or its crap.
Hold on i cant think of one remake or sequel of an old game that Nintendo screwed up. Like i stated before new franshises are critical to keep things from becoming stale. But then again imagine a 3D Mach Rider on the GCN. (its that dang trophy of mach rider in SSBM thats got me on a Mach Rider kick as of late...you cant blame me though)

On the contrary I think Nintendo shouldn't bring back old games (excluding the big guns like Link, Mario and Samus).
What we need is new stuff!

Sir, I say "1/2 Bull" to you. We need sequels..."Good" sequals. On top of that new material should appear as well. So a materal of old and new material should be made to keep the masses quite. What we need as well would be for N to listen to its gamers who have beena round for a while and not those who have just appeared waving a console flag of thier choice.
Come on now Lets see some of ninty's franchises are sold old and forgotten by the mass market that it would be like completely new stuff. In all actual reality many old school gamers in 20-30 year old age group would slowly but surely return to the console that raised them, because all the fad games like gta, halo, spcell, getaway would eventually leave them feeling empty.................Trust the Authority

Remember Mario party barely beating zelda for number one in world wide units.
Now does that count as an old franchise?

For me....I got a Cube because of the old franchises thet I loved when I was younger.... but I agree that some new games along with the old would be good.

Didn't Miyamoto say he was going to be announcing a new franchise at E3? I like remakes and sequels of older games. There are a couple of games I'd like to see remade, but I'd also like a really good original game to keep people from accusing Nintendo of just recycling old games. Right now a new Pilotwings is fine for me.
as for me i dont really care for Pilot Wings it was always rather weird. i dont think it would do well sales wise either seeing as even the "coolest" Nintendo game to the public right now,Metroid Prime didnt perform up to expectations. What they do need is a new Mario Rpg with Square and Nintendo partnering up..or they could do a kingdom hearts style rpg with square and maybe enix characters only they could just put nintendo characters like link, pit, mario, ness, roy, etc and nintendo locales instead of disney characters. NOW thats a game that would sale millions...(trust me)

Crystalis and StarTropics, hey how about a California Games sequel; you can't beat a game that has a hackie sack event.
