The last Z06 and the C6 pulled a 7'56" at the N'ring. The 2006 Z06 is expected to hit in the 7'40" range. No Viper has toppped 8'10". Most supercars don't either. Last year the Vette racing team, uses so much from the street Vettes it's crazy, one every single race it entered.

Viper, yes the Sledgehammer is the fastest street legal car, however, IMO, its ugly man. Anyway, i think the new Saleen S7TT might be able to top it, it already has a top speed of 232 and with an additional 250 hp and smaller drag it might just have enough to add that additional 25 mpg it needs to top the Vette, check it out here http://fast-autos.net/saleen/saleens7tt.html . Yeah, they should have, however it is a luxury car first and thus adds a lot of wieght, but imagine this care just 500 lbs lighter.

Also, about the 208 speed limit, that is what Mercedes figures it will go, now if it is capable of it with tires is another story, however theoretically, Mercedes says if tires that can take the pressure are on it, it should reach that area. Either way, 186 is still aweasome

The hottest car out there? Shit, that varies on taste.

A favorite of mine? Well, I like the TVR Tamora, the BMW M3/M5, Corvette Z06/C5, Porsche 911 Turbo/GT3, the AMG Mercedes (all of them). Those are my favorites. I'm not much into the ridiculous cars with no practical use, like Italian cars. Italian cars in general are good for garages, and that's about it. I think Germany and the United States make the coolest cars.
