Tell us why you chose one console over the others and why.

If you own all three, tell us which one you prefer.

I chose my Gamecube over all the other consoles cus Im Nintendo Fanboy for life.

I got a GC first because of Nintendo's first and 2nd party games.

If money persists, I would get a PS2 for the great RPG's.

And I would get XBox for Fable, and XBox Live!

Well i have all 3 consoles I'll list them in order that i like them and reasons why.

XBOX, I like the FPS games coming to it and games already out (Halo, Dead to Rights, Unreal Championship, Halo 2, Mace Griffen, Turok Evolution, Max Payne, etc..) I also like the future RPG's coming out like Project Ego and Black and White. Also they seem to have the best online plan.

PS2, I pretty much bought the system for games like GTA3, FFX, and MGS2. I recently got GT3 though and its a great game too. PS2 has alot of great games but from what i can see it is over hyped.

GC, Last but not least, the only reason i really bought a GC is for Resident Evil. Then i heard of Final Fantasy Unlimited coming to GC and the new Zelda game, for now those are the only reasons i have for buying a GC. Until nintendo has some more games in the geners i like GC will remain last on my list.

I got a PS2, cause I like most of the games that come out for it, as Cheat_Master said....

My brother got a GameCube for mario, zelda, all that...

By the way, what is X-Box Live!

....?

GameCube - Nintendo has only been my passion. Mario, Zelda, Star Fox... what else can I say? I've loved all the past games and still I wait for the new classicals to arrive.

I'm getting a PS2 next. One main reason: Vice City. I'll own both GTA games and maybe something else.

Xbox - I'm not going to get one... the only game I liked was Halo. I'm not buying it for just one game. And if that whole Rare thing goes through, screw M$. Then I definately won't buy it.

That's just being a fanboy. It takes two to tango, you know.

I have an XBox because for one, I'm a FPS fanboy. Halo is like a dream come true to me, and then throw in all of the FPS games that my PC can't (couldn't) handle (Unreal Championship, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Ghost Recon, DOOM III, Brute Force, Breed, Hitman 2, etc.) and ones that would be better on the XBox (Serious Sam, Max Payne, TimeSplitters 2, etc.) and I just can't wait. And an all-broadband network........... heaven, I tell you. Plus throw in Bioware, Bungie, and Rare and you have quite the triple-threat. And of course there are games like:

- Panzer Dragoon
- RalliSport Challenge
- Sega GT2002
- ToeJam & Earl III
- Duality
- Mafia
- Quantum Redshift
- Raze the Roof (huge online game)
- Murakumo
- Steel Battalion (you know you want that controller. You know it.)
- House of the Dead III
- Phantom Crash
- Metal Gear Solid 2: Subtance
- Kakuto Chojin
- Kung Fu Chaos
- MechAssault
- Splinter Cell
- Jedi Outcast II
- Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4

And many, many, many more. The ones above are supposed to be out before / during November alone (minus the FPS games I mentioned).

And my Dreamcast............. *sniff*

A Newcomer's Guide to Xbox Live

This Fall, that mysterious little port on the back of your Xbox console will become the key to the fast and furious world of online gaming—a groundbreaking step for consoles.

But we know that you don't care if it's groundbreaking and that you don't want to hear about the technology behind it.

(We're going to tell you later anyway. But it might make your brain hurt.) Right now, all you want is what you have to do to get it, when it's going to happen, and how it's going to change the gaming world forever.

What is Xbox Live?

Xbox Live is an online gaming service that lets you play multiplayer Xbox games on the Internet via broadband. (something like cable or DSL – dial-up isn't fast enough.) That's gaming service. Gaming. Got that? We're not here to get you shopping auction sites, checking news headlines, or emailing your dear old granny. What you can do is play great games with people everywhere. It's like having a couch of friends ready to get their game on. You can chat with them while you play, no matter where they live. You can download new levels and items to keep everything fresh. It's all about the games.

How do I get it?

You gotta have high speed, or broadband, Internet service. That's number one. If you don't have it, get it. (You don't want to be the last on the block with dial-up – that's just embarrassing.) You're also going to have to connect your cable or DSL modem to your Xbox. So you'll need an Ethernet cable for sure, and maybe some other hardware depending on how fancy you want to get with your home networking. Finally, you'll need a subscription (the introductory package is a steal—stay tuned for more information on how and where to purchase the kit ) to Xbox Live, and an Xbox game that is online-enabled.

How long do I have to wait for it?

The service will officially launch this Novermber 15th in North America, but there is a chance that you can get in on the Beta program. You can try out the service and games in their pre-release form, plus tell all your friends that you were one of the first people in the world to play on Xbox Live! (It's sort of like being an Army Ranger, or a Navy SEAL. Except you don't have to shave your head and get shot at.)

Guess what i prefer? but i like all 3

Gamecube- Mario, Zelda, Starfox, Metroid, Animal Crossing, Resident Evil... you get the point.

PS2- All I own for this is GTA3. I wasn't impressed with the latest Final Fantasy game and anything else I want to play I'll just rent. The only game I'll probably buy right now is GTA: Vice City.

Xbox- I don't own one right now. I'm still waiting to see if there's going to be more then one game (Halo) on the system that I even want to play.

I forgot about Morrowind. I would like to play it. Played Max Payne on PC and PS2, not into football games, can play The Thing on PS2 if I wanted to and not interesting in JSRF. Thanks for reminding me about Morrowind though. :)

Of course Gamecube would be first for me!The games that are out and soon to be released appealed to me.I would'nt really care about a DVD player in the system I just care about the consoles gaming capabilities not entertainment capabilities. If I wanted to play the PS2 I'd just go to my friend's place.I don't care about the Xbox and I'll leave it at that.

Well I own all three for one simple reason...I like video games.

Reguardless of system I play games. Do I repect Nintendo the most? Indeed I do. They have been here to longest of anyone. They are the only company that relies on Video games as there only form of profit. AS well..They have contributed the most out of anyone to the term we have come to know as "VideoGame".

To anyone though who has had a dream or a hand in trying to entertain people..I tip my hat. Past and Previous companies. But one thing I cannot stress enough..Never abandon your morals for money.

I bought my PS2 at first because I heard Kingdom Hearts was coming out on it... and I'm still excited about it coming in a few days! The first game I got on it was FFX, and I've been hooked to it ever since... I'm very happy with my PS2. :)

I got my GC so I could play SSBM! I was so psyched to finally see Link in a smooth realistic form that was close to the Spaceworld preveiw. And so far I love all my games on it, even Luige's Mansion, which I heard most people didnt like very much.

The only game I ever liked for Xbox was Halo... any really I havent seen any other game I'd like to play on it. If a game does come out besides Halo that I like, then I'll most likely concider buying it... but right now, its a no on Xbox..

I got my PS2 for the games, and because of the amount of fun that I had with my PSone.

A GameCube is the next on my list. I've played it quite a bit, and I see it as a sound investment.

The Xbox is the one that I don't plan on getting for two reasons.

1) I don't have the money.

2) It doesn't appeal to me.

That's just my opinion, and I truly feel sorry for anyone who can't handle the fact that different people have opposing opinions. It seems that the best that some of you can do is attempt to insult people for not sharing your ideals, and that's bullshit.

I could make a nicely sized list of games coming out for the PS2 or the GC that appeal to me, but that doesn't make my favored console look better, it just makes me look like a moron because if you can't deal with a basic fact of life (like people having different beliefs, ideals, opinions) you best give it up now.

Look at yourself, Revolution, before you start pointing fingers at people saying "Well, you're a fanboy!". It isn't offensive to anyone except yourself, and it really takes a number on your supposed intelligence.

One more thing, I dare you to get in a flame war with me. Do you know how much it would help these forums to lose someone as arrogant as yourself? You are not a moderator here, don't act like it. You don't have the freedom here that you do at XL, and I doubt that you ever will. Over the last week, I have been in a transitional period. I figured that maybe if I changed my attitude a bit, it may help the site. But no, it just lets people like you thrive, Revo. That is unacceptable, and if you continue your childish antics anymore, you will be a fucking memory, do I make myself clear?

I first became interested in the gmecube when i was a major fanboy 3 yrs ago, (but i had a DC), I saw noting in the new next gen systems...i was so ignorant, Xwha? PS2 sux..that sorta shit...I saw the e3 2000 videos and i was hooked...I had to have one...But me being like 12 @ the time, 300$ is kinda hard to come across...So i started a bank account and scrounged any money i could come by...Eventually i had enough to get the EB deal(system, 2 games, mcard 59, third party controller)...worth 600 some canadian dollars...god was i happy...But now im diversified in the gaming world...seeing what exellent system the PS2 is, even tho it has dated hardware, the software makes up for it...and the sheer power of the Xbox and its almighty hard drive...makes me wonder why i got the cube,

But then i say...Because nintendo kicks ass...
When i get some money im buying an Xbox, thats all i have to say,

I got the PS2 as it was a DVD, Playstation and a PS2 all in one. I have spent many of happy hours on the machine with games like GT3, GTA3, MGS2, SH2, Soul Reaver 2, FFX, RE code Veronica X, Maximo, DMC and many others.

The Only resion I got the Cube was Resdent Evil. Yes I will play other games on their but Resident Evil is the best game series out EVER.

I play a lot on both. I enjoy both.
The only resion I don't have the Xbox is cos at the moment in England (PAL) thier are only one game I would like and the is Buffy.. But I do play on my freinds Xbox so I realy don't need one yet.

I bought the PS2 because of its previous successor, PSX. I loved the games on PSX, and so I thought I will love the PS2 games, because of the ammount of developer support, and lots of good games on the shelves.

MGS2, DMC 1 & 2, ZOE, Final Fantasy X, TTT, Virtua Fighter 4, MKDA, GTAIII/Vice City......Need I say more?

GC, I love Nintendo with all my heart, HENCE how I have Nintendo in my name. I love their games, their consoles....And I am loving GC so far, with all of the great AAA titles...Metroid Prime, SFA, and soon Wind Waker, need I say more?

If I get Xbox, I will buy it for its Xbox Live Service.

I got a GAMECUBE because I only had enough money for one console, and Nintendo has alot more experience. The only non-Nintendo console I have is PS1.

I Got a PS2 Because of its sheer Variety of Games Like Final Fantasy Series, Metal Gear Solid series, Xenosaga, Grand Theft Auro series, Kingdom Hearts, Wild Arms series, Grandia series, Onimusha series, Devil May Cry Series, Silent Hill Series and lots of other games i cant think of right now!

Things i Hate about PS2: It Gets Ruined Easily.

I Got a Gamecube Because i have always loved and supported There software, Like Mario, Zelda, Starfox ect. I Also Like The Systems Size and The Controller.

Things I Hate about The Gamecube: Controller makes it inadequite for Fighting games.

Im Currently Considering Buying An Xbox. Mostly Because of Halo, and Fable, and not to mention the 199.99 2 Game Bundle Sounds too juicy to pass up.

Things I Hate about the Xbox: SIze and Lack of Games That Interest me besides Halo Series and Fable, and a couple of other games.

i went with the ps2 because of the final fantasy series and similar games, ie kingdom hearts. I also went with Sony because it is a stable company. Currently I am considerin the GC because of games like Metroid Prime and Starfox

GameCube - quality hardware with the best warranty and support behind it, very affordable system and accesories, excellent controller and the games of course appeal to me because of their highly artistic visuals and audio, innovative gameplay and creative characters and plot. I have had no complaints about my GameCube up to this point, although I hope to see online support in the future.

If I had the time and money, I would also like to buy a PS2 for its variety and amount of games.

I don't plan on purchasing an Xbox. Just...lack of taste.

I thought it was powerful because it can play DVD's, online capabilities, playback feature,
and can play audio CD's.

Now, why is the PS2 weak?
If it's graphic-wise, then forget the question.....
