He uses Photoshop CS as do I, xnylived, and Teke.

I use paint shop 7!!!! Yeah it sucks. :(

Then how do you get those grid lines?

1. Open a new file 5 pixels wide by 5 pixels high with a transparent BG.
2. Take out your pencil (make sure the color is white or black - white= lighter grid, black=darker grid) and make a lower case t or a cross. Make sure it is even, so the vertical and horizontal lines are both in the middle.
3. Goto Edit > Define Pattern and name it whatever you want.
4. Open a new file that you'd want to make a sig and go to Edit > Fill. Chose pattern and find your cross. Fill the file with that pattern and you'll have a grid.

Tips: Change the opacity so it isn't an obstuction.

I figured PaintShop Pro would have defining patterns in it...

There are already some PSP patterns that look like that, and you can make your own patterns saving them, but I forget.

To get just the horizontal lines all I did was open a new file that's 1 pixel wide and 2 pixels high(height) and paint one of the height pixels the color that you want the lines to be and save it and then on the side where styles are and you can click the arrow to chose solid, gradient or pattern you chose pattern and it should be at the top. Then you just use the paint bucket and fill the sig. Put the lines on their own layer so you can adjust the transperency. For the squares I just do the same thing except I open up a new image thats 7 pixels by 7 pixels and put a vertical line in the middles and a horizontal line in the middle or as xnylived put it +.
