Fred McGriff (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/stats?statsId=3579&context=batting), currently on the Devil Rays is supposedly available. This raises the question, is he Hall of Fame material?
/me says no *cough* accumulator

He is way past his prime, IMO. Haven't heard that name for at least 3 years now.

His highest homerun total EVER was 37, in 1993. Yet, he will still hit 500 HR in his career. Hmmm, still, I don't think he's a HOFer.

maybe if the HoF class is incredibly weak one year. He deserves a bench spot somewhere though.

But if guys like Dave Bancroft (http://www.baseball-reference.com/b/bancrda01.shtml) can make it, I would think 500 HR should put Crime Dog in, IMO.

I don't see anything in his career worthy of being even called an All Star....

If he makes it to 500 he WILL get in. SHOULD he is another question. I don't think he should be in.
