top row are the teams that clinched a playoff berth. next row are the teams that haven't clinched but are in the top 8 (standings off NBA.com)
West- Lakers, T'Wolves, Kings, Spurs, Grizzlies, Mavericks
Rockets (7), Nuggets (8)
East- Pacers, Nets, Pistons
Hornets (4), Bucks (5), Heat (6), Knicks (7), Celtics (8)
with about a week and a half left, let's make some early predictions for the finals :D

Listed in the order I believe they will come in
Kings, Lakers, T'Wolves, Spurs, Grizzlies, Mavericks, Rockets, and Trail Blazers
Pacers, Nets, Pistons, Hornets, Bucks, Heat, Celtics, and Knicks

I think this year is better than ever for the Lakers to win it all.
Since the Raptors are pretty much cooked from playoff contention, I'm cheering for the Pistons in the playoffs!
Let's hope the East can win it all for once.

I'd like to see the Pacers win it this year. I think they have the best chance to beat one of the western teams.

The West's most disappointing team this season:
Dallas Mavericks
Sure, they're winning games, but they also give up about 95 points on average a night. Trading away Nick Van Exel and Raef LaFrentz weren't exactly the smartest moves defensively. Now they're loaded with offense.

Im going to say Pacers and Lakers in the finals, and if the Lakers are healthy, they're gonna win it.

as of 4/13/04, these are standings, all 8 teams in each conference clinching. there are about 2 more days of regular season ball left, maybe some changes in the way they will be seeded
