...but Patrick Lalime won't be blowing games for the Senators anymore. He was traded to the Blues for a 4th round draft pick in this year's draft. In other Senators news, Radek Bonk was traded to the Kings who then traded Bonk and Cristobal Huet Montreal for Mathieu Garon. Also, Dominik Hasek has signed with the Senators for a multi-year contract which includes insentives like if he takes the Sens to the cup, he will become the highest paid goalie in the NHL. Fortunately for us Wings fans, we got the master of choke artists in Patrick Lalime in our division and lose a waste of roster space in Hasek! In other news, the Kings acquired Stephane Quintal from the Canadiens today for future considerations.

It certainly sounds like the last 4 years playoff defeats we put on them (in 4 meetings) has finally made them realize they can't beat us w/out some major work being done. You knew Lalime wouldn't be back so now it's Hasek and his wonky groin and less-than-stellar record the past few years. Bonk is gone, too. Seems desperation is hitting it's stride with our Ontario cousins.

They aren't done apparently, as I've heard rumours that they are willing to trade one of their top goaltending prospects (Prusek, Emery, Guard) for a sniper if they can't resign Bondra.
Man, this is getting good, and I'm not even a Leafs fan.

It'll be interesting the next little while. Bondra is gone now so your story may hold water. And Barnaby says he wouldn't mind coming to Ottawa. Be just fine by me. Now that we've got the big trio back the next stage is when JFJ adds a few needed bodies. Some big names could go cheap and I got a feelin' JFJ is a gambler.
