So far I've heard three different trades bringing Benson to the Mets.

Trade 1 - Wigginton, Peterson and Milledge (both top 5 Mets' prospects) for Benson
Trade 2 - Peterson and a lesser minor leaguer for Benson
Trade 3 - A three team deal including the Chicago White Sox where the Mets send Peterson and someone else.

I think Benson would be awesome for the Mets. He would benefit from playing in an incredible pitcher's park and have Rick Peterson, the best pitching coach in the game (IMO).

Yes having Benson is nice, but for Adam Peterson and Milledge? Ugh.

Adam Peterson? Matt Peterson and Milledge are going to be nice players. I believe Milledge was the Mets 2003 1st round draft pick. Benson is a decent middle rotation starter but they did give up too much for him. Wiggington is a decent player as well. and yes I do think David Wright is ready to take over the 3B job.

Some Mets forums are saying that Cliff Floyd may be the player going to the Chicago White Sox... Now that is way too much to land Kris Benson. Maybe the Mets are picking up Mags or Carlos Lee in the trade, too.

Carlos Lee isn't going anywhere. He was signed to a 6-year contract extension just a few days ago, which is a sign, don't you think? Mags would simply be a rental player, since Hendry and the Cubs will knab him in the offseason. I agree though, Floyd is too much.

And to mattz: sorry. typo. :)

Take mags, he's not worth the rediculous contract he wants. Hidalgo is better younger and more affordable.

Floyd for Ordonez?....
....
wow that's a tough one. Floyd is our only left handed bat :(

Hidalgo makes like $8m a year.

OVERPAID. *does hockey chant*
