Latest Rumor out of Cubs Town!

Jason Stark of ESPN has reported that a 3 way deal is in underway envolving the Cubs, Expos, and Red Sox. The talks are reported to be very heavy. If this 3 way deal were to go through it would end up like this.

Prospects to Expos
Cabrera to Red Sox
Nomar to Cubs!

As a Cubs fan I am praying for this deal to go through!!

Someone on AIM told me that Hendry gave up Clement, but after he sent me the link, I noticed they didn't. Thank God. We do give up a great young talent in Brendan Harris, which ticks me off a bit, and Beltran could be a great reliever if he knew how to use his pitches.

Oh well. We got Nomar and that's the important part. Keep in mind that none of this is completely official yet.

Well here is what the deal looks like on paper since reading that article with all the players and teams confused me, if it does the same to you here is it....

Cubs get- Doug Mientkiewicz (Twins), Nomar (BOS), and Matt Murton (BOS)

Twins get- Justin Jones (CHC)

Red Sox get- Orlando Cabrera (MON)

Montreal gets- Alex Gonzalez (BOS), Brandan Harris (BOS), and Francis Beltran (BOS) NOTE: All the Bo Sox players acquired by Montreal were actually acquired from the Cubs for Nomar

Of course I like this deal for the Cubs, just one thing, where will Dougie play? Nomar maybe overrated but he is still a star. Murton is a decent prospect. As for the Twins, I think they could have gotten more for Dougie than an A prospect, though Jones is top prospect material. Boston looks to have gotten the low end of the deal, I think they should have kept what they got from the Cubs. Whenyou look at it they give up Nomar and Murton for Cabrera, and that doesnt look like a good deal to me. Expos got a lot for Cabrera, good deal for them. Beltran has some nice potential, Alex Gonzalez is not that bad of a player, Brandan Harris is a nice player. I like this deal for them.

It's official now. I'm interested in what you guys (who are die-hards) have to say. I watch ball but I don't really follow it anymore. But I AM a Cubbies fan so i'm enjoying what i've been hearing. Thanks to the dish that gets me WGN. The next Cubbies game should be a doozy!!
