My fish made some good deals before the deadline. Don't you think?

Yeah the Marlins did really well with that Lo Duca trade. He should be a nice fit for them. And his first at bat was a homer. :) I liked Penny though, but the Marlins have plenty of good starters so its not that bad. Mota is arguably the best set-up man in the game, so thats very good for them too.

The Big Al: Remember that Nomar is a free agent after this season, he has a very small but possible chance of returning to Boston, but I don't think he will resign with them again. But you did get a good 1B (Meintiwhatever) and a good SS Orlando Cabrera who should play better now then with the Expos because now he actually has good players around him (excluding Vidro from that). Nomar wanted out, and instead of waiting until the offseason, you got players for him instead of not getting any, which is always a plus.

He really is one of the best but I have seen a lot of Yankee game with Gordon setting up Rivera.

Dodgers did good but lost some good players, I'm a White Sox fan so I don't like Nomar on the Cubs (plus he used to be one of my favorite players), and boo to the Yankees cuz I hate 'em.

I personally think the Dodgers made out like bandits on that deal, but that's just me.

I respectfully disagree, the Marlins fleeced them.

Dodgers > Marlins

For Penny, the sky's the limit, and for LoDuca... it's almost up. :(

How so? The Dodgers got a young 1B that can hit the ball well already, and gets on base at a very good rate. They also got a 26 year old SP with an ERA in the low 3's that pitched an absolute gem last night. The Marlins got a catcher that is below average defensively, and always struggles in the 2nd half as compared to his 1st half. Mota is very good, but he is 31 and due for a big raise in the offseason, and besides the Dodgers have plenty of good arms in the pen. They also got Encarnacion, who sucks. Just my opinion, but I think the Dodgers ripped the Marlins off.

Took the words right from my mouth. ;)

Penny and Choi are like prospects, but are already capable of big things. Penny and Choi = The Future.

LoDuca won't last as long as the Marlins would like - same with Mota. No comment on Encarnacion. :p

I like that fact that Contreras is on the South Side. Loaiza was a fluke last year and plus we have the Cuban fireballer signed through 2006. :D
