8/19/04 - NFL Preseason wk 2 - The Giants and Panthers face off. Place bets now! Odds are 3:1 with the Giants as the underdog.

I think it means bet 1, plus your original one back. I could be wrong though.

Sandman - The Panthers have the advantage, therefore there is less risk and less of a reward if you take them and win.

PacMan - It's a bug in the system. I'll fix it soon.

Everyone else - what do you guys think of this?

Gambling n00b question: What's the point in betting with 1/1 odds?

Say you bet 10. If the Panthers win, you will get the 10 back, plus an additional 10, so you would have 510. I think.

Yes, if you bet 10 on 1/1 odds, you get what you bet + an addition amount equaling what you bet.
