Here is my unofficial list of the football players most hated by me.
3) Brett Favre
I respect his toughness, I respect his heart, I respect that he is possibly the toughest guy in all of the sports, and I hate having to face him, even if he's hurt. But, I'm a Vikings fan, so I'm required to hate him. :)
2) Terrell Owens
He's #2, but just barely, because he almost makes it to #1. I don't like him for many different reasons, none of which are his celebrations. I love his celebrations, and think they are funny. But some of the stuff he says gives me a headache. Here is a nice easy list of why I don't like him:
A) Yelling at the coordinator and throwing a temper tantrum last year on the sideline because he didn't feel he was getting the ball enough
B)His comments about Jeff Garcia: "If it looks like a rat and smells like a rat, then by golly, it's a rat", also the many comments about how Garcia's arm wasn't strong enough to get him the ball)
C) God's role in his life, he says: "I am God's child. God doesn't want me to fail." Somehow, I doubt God really cares one way or the other
D) the way he has an excuse for everything, for example, here is his excuse for dropping 18 passes last year (a high number of drops): "I know why I was dropping them. I was trying to do too much, trying to make up for everyone else's weaknesses. There were times I did get frustrated, and my concentration was off."
E) The fact that he is maybe the biggest me-first player in the NFL
1) Ray Lewis
Basically, only two things make me dislike him. First, his SB dance a few years ago. What the heck was that supposed to be? Watching him just makes watching teams like the Patriots, who are more about team than "me", more refeshing to see. Second, I still don't like him for the incident a few years ago around the Super Bowl. Yes, the same one where him and his buddies got ina fight with two other guys, and the other guys wound up dead. Sorry, but I'm not going to forgive him for that.
