Want to know how Super Mario Advance 4 plays? Aldo Merino has the good word in here.

Super Mario Bros. 3 is widely regarded as one of the best, if not the best, game in the series and for good reason. Super Mario Advance 4 takes that game back to the Game Boy Advance in what we can only assume will be the last of Mario ports to the handheld.

It looks and plays just as you remember it with some minor graphical updates, such as adding more detailed colors and palettes on some objects; really, there's not much more to say than that. This is the same SMB3 you know and love, except that it looks better and feels every bit as cmfortable as you remember; all the secrets are still very much intact.

What is new however is the e-Card reading ability the game features via a Communication option at the start menu, and when we asked about just what this will do for the game, we got one of the best answers we ever have: it'll add new levels and items to the games from the Mario series.

In one example a Nintendo employee used, you may be able to have the Tanooki Suit and pick up vegetables; while that's a fairly ambiguous statement since it leaves a lot of questions, the idea was simply reinforced in principle to Xbox Live's ability to download levels for its games (although these are stored in RAM). It'll certainly be interesting to see just what Nintendo offers up for the enhancements when the game and the e-cards are released.
