2003-2004 NBA Rookie of the year, Bronze medal winning Olympian, and sponsorship gadfly LeBron James has just become a father. The soon to be 20 year old Cleveland Cavalier became a patriarch earlier this morning when a 19-year old Akron, Ohio, female gave birth to the boy. James, who was participating in the Cavaliers media day, was not commenting on the issue at current so no major details have come about such as the child's name or who will have custody. James is expected to rejoin his team tomorrow.

Good to hear that the next big thing isn't a complete jackass. However, he's in his sophomore season in the NBA and he's only 20. I don't know, 20 just seems very early to have a baby together. I think he'll make a great father, though.

I really think that some people may be blowing this out of proportion. James and his longtime girlfriend (although they aren't married yet) have a baby together at 20 years old. He's a basketball star, let him do whatever he wants to do, even if it isn't what a role model should do.

Asked if the baby looked like him, James smiled and said, "He looks like the milkman -- I'm starting to wonder."

Looks like Lebron was rubbing up a little too close to the milkman... err, i mean his girlfriend was. ;)

well that sucks for him, man he is so young he could have waited until he was a little more mature, but oh well what can you do now...
