Secret Asian Man

Down 2 games to the powerful Cardinals, the Los Angeles Dodgers came into the game knowing that this game could eliminate them. With injuries to Kaz Ishii, Hideo Nomo, and Brad Penny, the Dodgers only have a 3-man rotation; Perez, Weaver, and none other than Jose Lima. The emotional pitcher pitched a complete game shutout to lead L.A. to a 4-0 victory over the Cardinals. After pitching 8 shutout innings, Eric Gagne was already ready to come into the game. Jim Tracy believed in Lima and allowed Jose to finish the game off. This great pitching performance turned into Jose Lima's first complete game since 2001 and the first complete game shutout for the Dodgers in the playoffs since 1988 when they faced Oakland in the World Series. Shawn Green helped his cause by hitting 2 solo homeruns, making him the first Dodger player to hit a homerun in consecutive playoff games. The Dodgers will put Odalis Perez on the mound tomorrow as they will attempt to tie it up at 2 games apiece in the series.
